The cutest red cabin in Pepin, Wisconsin. 🏞️🛣️ 📩 SAVE FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP! This past week, my family and I spent some time in the driftless region of Wisconsin. Our stay? A charming 100+ year old cabin full of character, history, and all the little imperfections that make a place feel like home. Creaky floorboards, an interior thoughtfully brought back to life, and little nods to the past, like the old farm style sink. A beautiful balance of old and new. Our days were simple. Mornings making pancakes, reading stories, driving the scenic byways, ooing and awing over the countryside bluffs covered in fall colors, and ending our days relaxing in the hot tub and sitting around the fire. 🔥 It rained for much of our stay, but I think that made it better. There was no rush to get out the door. No itinerary to follow. Just the sound of rain against the windows. A cup of coffee in hand and sounds of music softly playing in the background. If you visit Pepin, you’ve gotta check out Villa Bellezza Winery & Vineyards! Only a couple minutes from our stay! You’ll feel like you teleported to Italy! 🇮🇹 Take the short drive to Nelson and fill up on Ice cream, cheese, wine, sandwiches, and more @nelsoncheesefactory ! A MUST. Drive down to Wabasha or Red Wing to check out tons of little shops and boutiques! @redwingsmith is one of my favs! Stillwater isn’t too far if you want to make a day trip! This autumn seems to be one of the most intense ones in terms of schedules. I’m very grateful that it’s also bringing some truly special moments along the way. Finnish Lapland, ~1150km from home. Experiencing moments like these in genuine company makes them even more meaningful. Finnish Lapland and Lake Inari in the September glow were definitely among them. Simple moments, like taking a break during a boat trip among the rocky islands of the lake, sipping coffee by a campfire inside a tent — straight from a #kuksa 😁. Sometimes, it’s these simple moments that stay with you the longest. Lake Inarijärvi is located in northern Finnish Lapland, north of the Arctic Circle, near the village of Inari. It is Finland’s third-largest lake, covering more than 1,000 km², and is famous for its rugged wilderness and more than 3,300 islands. The lake lies in a remote subarctic landscape surrounded by forests, fells and open wilderness. Its waters eventually flow north through the Paatsjoki River towards the Barents Sea. For me, visiting Inarijärvi is an opportunity to experience the vastness and peacefulness of Arctic nature; a place where water, islands, forests and cultural heritage come together.
