Paul, Brea, Jubei, Ivanna and Lou are not afraid to show some skin. They serve face. They serve body. They serve looks.

And apparently, they serve an appetite too.

“We’re all matakaw,” says Lou Eslao. Models, she says, love food as much as they love fashion. Jubei Caceres agrees, especially when it comes to the food at fashion-week after-parties.

See, models are not just sexy. And just because they show skin doesn’t mean anybody gets to touch. As Jubei puts it, there needs to be “stronger protection for models against harassment” so everyone can work in a safe and respectful environment.

And after the clothes come off, Lou says it’s the quieter parts she enjoys most: “my slow, quiet and boring moments—and I love them so much.”

Because yes, models show skin. They can be sexy. They can be hungry. They can be ambitious. And they deserve to feel safe, respected, and free to simply be themselves, too.

From casting calls to night outs, 18 models line up for @366zine

When photographer Karl King Aguna returned to his roots in Manila some years ago, he found himself looking beyond the final photographs and into the subjects within them.

On shoots and at fashion shows, they can seem almost untouchable. Elsewhere, models are simply people stuck in Manila traffic, getting coffee at a hip spot in Escolta, dancing their hearts out in Poblacion, and figuring out what comes next. Between the call times and the long waits, the castings that go nowhere and the jobs that finally come through, there is a life being built. Aguna has shared much of that life with them. Still, he kept clicking the shutter.

What emerges is not so much a portrait of modelling in Manila as it is a picture of the world they are trying to make a living in.
