Local restaurants sit at the intersection of food, business, and community. Learn how the chefs and owners at your favorite restaurants are helping shape a more sustainable food system.

Swipe to learn more about our panelists and their restaurants. Join us at the Sustain Dane Summit on November 6 to learn from these chefs and restaurateurs.

Evan Dannells is the chef/owner of Cadre Restaurant, a partner at Lola’s Hi/Lo Lounge, and was Madison’s 2025 Chef of the Year. Beyond the kitchen, Evan is an advocate for community involvement and is an active member of the Main Street Alliance as well as a founding member of the Dane County Food Collective.

True North Music Fest!

There was a real panic in our house as the stomach flu showed its disgusting face only a day before. Luckily we had some immunity to this strain because neither myself nor my sexy photo assistant fell ill.

The day could not have gone better. Other than being called mean by another photographer. (If you’re reading this we will become friends) And! It sort of seemed like maybe I was temporarily blamed for some sound issues. But only by the security guard.

Anyway! My husband and I had the best time and I didn’t have to carry my super heavy gear bag at all. We got to see all my favorite chef friends. So many not pictured in this post. I went on a Ferris wheel because it was on the shotlist. I haven’t gone in probably 20 years because I’m afraid of heights. I became best friends with the drummers mom - we email now. Oh! And after we left we got a bar spot at Lola’s!

Maybe I’ll do a second post because I have so many more photos.

Yesterday we had the honor of sharing different cuts of Hall of Fame Wagyu with some incredible local Wisconsin chefs 🥩 We can talk all day about the marbling, the flavor, and our goal to raise some of the healthiest, most delicious beef on the planet, but the best way to understand what makes our Wagyu different? Trying it for yourself👨‍🍳🔥

We were honored today to host the Local Chefs Tour at Six Springs Farm where we showed chefs from all across Wisconsin how we raise our farm to table Wagyu Beef 🐄🌾 But, you didn't think we would show them the farm without having them taste our beef did you? You'll just have to come back for part 2: Feeding the Chefs 🥩
