In First Place….FIRST FLIGHT 🥇 At the end of the 2025 winter season a few weeks later I got the news that flight would be bumping down to open class. Which at that time meant I no longer was able to march. My heart ached at the fact that unfortunately, my time was up. Somehow some way the Guard Gods gave me another chance to continue to spin after the age limit was moved up. At the beginning of this season there’s no way you could’ve told me that First Flight would medal in open class and I would’ve believed you. Going into this season I felt a lot of uncertainty, an almost brand new cast, new design staff, and one my closest friends in this activity would no longer be sharing the floor with me. But, somewhere along the way I realized that the same familiarity and love I’ve shared in the past , still lives on our floor today. First Flight has a motto “It’s about the journey” and letting what once was uncertainty transform into determination, not just for me but our whole team. I’m proud to be apart of a team that sees obstacles as a way to be stronger and we truly danced in the rain til the sun was shining Gold.I hope that same shine falls on every First Flight member past, present and to come, because what makes magic is our bond and without all the sacrifices we wouldn’t have the opportunity to be where we are. Thank you year 3 for fulfilling my dreams. Thank you to my staff for never letting up, I will forever appreciate every helping hand. Thank you Melissa, Jenny, and Luke. Y’all are simply amazing and something truly special in the color guard community. Your talks, your support, and your love is all deeply felt and appreciated. Thank you to my team. On my good days and my bad y’all were the sunshine on the other side of the rain. Y’all are what makes flight home. I love ALL y’all DEEP DEEP. And to ME. Thank you. For never giving up. From the day you started you’ve always just wanted to spin. Not for scores, not for someone else’s approval but because you simply loved it. That love has now blossomed into a beautiful performer whose only hope is to create, perform, inspire, and make the BEST Memories with the BEST People along the way. ~Keyonce

First Flight, you mean the world to me 🩵🫶🏽✈️ Back in October I was convinced I was done spinning and that guard wasn’t for me anymore. I had lost all the passion I had for this sport and didn’t see a future where I continued spinning. Luckily my best friend convinced me to go to callbacks and see what would happen. So many stars had to align for us to have this opportunity but it worked out in our favor and we found our home. I went into this season with a hope to make new friends, grow as a performer, and find my passion for this sport again. Ending this season I realize that I’ve found all of that and more. Spending every weekend for the past 6 months with this amazing group of people and creating and performing this beautiful show is something I will never forget. We chased rainbows all season, not looking for what was at the end, but for how we felt sharing our story with people. We put our hearts into this show and made the story come to life and I would do it all again and again. We reached the end of the rainbow and found the gold🥹🌈🥇 Can’t wait for what the future holds🤍 When it Rains, It Pours ☔️🌈🧂 Winter 2026

I can't ever describe how much this team means to me. They have really shown what having a guard family is like and I am forever grateful to have been given such an amazing opportunity to spin with these amazing, talented, and strong people.
