Retold Slopagne ⚜️Teels like stepping into a luxury mountain lodge after a long day on the slopes — cold air on your skin, a glass of chilled champagne in hand, and the warmth of wood and soft blankets surrounding you. ⚜️The opening is sparkling and fresh, with crisp pine needles, eucalyptus and juicy cassis blending into the fizzy elegance of champagne and green apple. As it settles, the fragrance becomes softer and more comforting, revealing delicate violet, creamy cocoa butter, warm honey and a touch of cinnamon spice. ⚜️In the dry down, smooth sandalwood, cedarwood, vanilla and musk create a cozy, addictive trail that stays close to the skin like cashmere. Who am I to decline an invite to the @guerlain boutique in london to deep dive into their history and scents! Very few houses can boast the quality, longevity and style that Guerlain offers and it was evident in the responses from those in attendance. The store and staff were extremely knowledgeable helpful and kept our glasses full! There’s a reason why Guerlain is one of my favourite houses and they didn’t disappoint. Thank you. Already picked out my fragrance for the last day of the year 🎆 It is going to be the absolute rock star of the house of Parfums de Marly: this is Carlisle (EDP). Sometimes you come across a review that just hits the spot. Let me point you to the review given by @scent_jay: He mentions that Carlisle is a fragrance that invites you to linger and dream. It presents itself as dark, sweet and complex. Carlisle is simply able to build an aura of profundity and the unknown. The opening is absolutely clear and sorted out in a finely balanced environment of earthy sweetness, the beautiful hint of apple and balsamic underpinning. Still veiled in an echo of fruity and spicy approaches, Carlisle presents it warm(er) dry down. It calms down just a bit, but not to become restless. Rather, it takes the figurative step back to go one more step forwards, increasingly warmer, mixed with vanilla and fine woods. Thnx bro 😎! Overture Man @amouageofficial Christopher Choung’s final sign off from the brand, and possibly one of Amouage’s greatest creations. Overture Man is only, I repeat only for the die hard fragrance connoisseurs. It’s the sheer definition of opulence. An insignia of royalty. It’s mature, aggressively smooth, rugged and sophisticated. Overture Man is one big oxymoron. How can something regal be so aggressive, offensive yet charming at the same time, well they achieved it. The opening first few seconds is beautiful, it’s a blast of sour grapefruit and ginger with a boozy Cognac. A few moments later the freshness has vanished, the booziness still remains, but what appears is a spicy cumin, a leathery saffron and smoky myrrh. At this point it’s thick, offensive and alittle armpit’ish. The animalic qualities of cumin, saffron and the leather combined with very balsamic, smoky and resinous woods creates a body odour type of scent. If BO would ever smell sexy, it’s would literally only be here, in this fragrance only. I like animalics, but I can’t cope with them when they become too realistic, however in Overture Man it’s executed so well you want to keep sniffing yourself. The dry down looses its offensive quality, and the sandalwood appears with other resins smoothing out the base with a combination of woods. No fragrance smells like this. This is a one of kind beast that only the real ones can carry off and enjoy. A masterpiece. Who else likes Overture Man? Or doesn’t?
