If you know me, you know my love for history. Last weekend, we had the chance to help preserve WWII aircraft and honor the legacy of the Greatest Generation, all while stepping back into the 1940s for Moonlight Swing! Thank you, @cafairbasegeorgia , for such a beautiful evening. ✈️

This weekend some of our paratroopers and family members volunteered at the inaugural @cafairbasegeorgia Moonlight Swing Dance to celebrate our Greatest Generation and the 250th anniversary of the United States. Our paratroopers and family members provided background history on WWII and the U.S. Army Airborne, transporting guests back to the 1940s.

The highlight of the evening was honoring 11th Airborne Division Veteran, Mercer Fisher, with a set of All Airborne Battalion Wings and a team patch that was recently jumped at the 82nd D-Day Commemorations in Normandy. They also spent time with two members of the French Resistance and had fellowship with the amazing volunteers of the Commemorative Air Force who help preserve our history everyday. If you are near a CAF Wing, please consider volunteering and help educate, inspire and keep ‘em flying!

Thanks to all the volunteers who made the evening possible. Thank you also to the primary sponsor, Delta Airlines and all the other sponsors who enabled the event.

We say it all the time, but making music with friends *REALLY IS* something special ✨ dusted off my ladies trio skills and got to work with these 2 songbirds to sing the National Anthem at the “Moonlight Swing” a 40’s themed dance & dinner for the @cafairbasegeorgia!

We’ve also decided we want to do this more often… So let us know if you’re in need of a ladies trio - National anthem, Christmas, Jazz, a singing telegram for a birthday, anniversary, retirement!

The Hero of Midway. SBD Dauntless’s like this one helped secure victory at the Battle of Midway by sinking 4 enemy carriers and a heavy cruiser.

This is the CAF Airbase Georgia’s Douglas SBD Dauntless showing off its bomb load and unique dive brakes/flaps as it took a lap around the pattern at FFC.
