My first proper Fika break in Sweden, right in the heart of Haga! 🇸🇪🤎

Haga is one of Gothenburg’s most charming neighbourhoods, filled with cobbled streets, traditional wooden buildings and cosy little cafés basically the perfect place to experience a proper Swedish fika.

Fika is the Swedish tradition of slowing down, taking a break and enjoying a coffee or drink with something sweet… something I could definitely get used to! ☕️

I stopped at @cafehusaren probably best known for its GIANT cinnamon buns. And when I say giant… they’re huge 😂. Cinnamon really isn’t my thing though, so I went for a Hallongrotta instead a traditional Swedish buttery biscuit with raspberry jam in the centre 🍓🍪

I paired it with a hot chocolate topped with whipped cream 🍫☕️. I was craving something super sweet, but it was actually quite mild still a solid 7/10.

Sitting outside in Haga, slowing down and watching the world go by made this such a lovely little fika moment. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. 🤎

If you’re visiting Gothenburg, I’d definitely make time for a wander around Haga and a fika stop along the way.

Are you going for the giant cinnamon bun or a Hallongrotta like me? 👀🇸🇪

This giant cinnamon bun serves two to three people. Or one very committed person. 🥐

It’s the Hagabullen at Café Husaren, baked in Gothenburg’s charming Haga neighborhood since the 1980s and still one of the most famous buns in Sweden.

Send this to the friend you’d (maybe) share it with.

Haga is one of Gothenburgs most charming neighbourhoods, known for its cobbled streets, colourful wooden houses, independent boutiques and cosy cafes. It is home to Cafe Husaren known for its giant cinnamon buns (Hugabullar) the perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy a fika and soak up the atmosphere

Vassen Market was a great hangout spot! Loads of independent street food vendors, seats by the water and a great atmosphere.
This closed in the winter, but you can find similar vibes at @lindholmenstreetfoodmarket instead

Jacyz! The whole reason we booked the trip! This did not disappoint! Smaller than some other Europe spa’s, but made up for it in style and cosy vibes! The perfect little escape and worth every second ✨

A theme park right in the middle of Gothenburg! Great for a family trip or those who love a roller coaster! We also loved visiting @liseberggrandcuriosa hotel for a little drink and to enjoy the surroundings

A lovely sunny afternoon sailing away to the Archipelago! A set of small islands on the coast of Gothenburg. Beautiful little villages with people waving as we sailed by.
Check out @getyourguide and @strommagoteborg for trips!

Planning a trip to Gothenburg!? Consider this your sign to book it! A lovely laid back city with a bit of everything 🥰

Save this post for your next city break or send it to someone you’d love to visit with! 🫶
