🌱 A huge thanks to everyone who joined us in Arkansas for NSAC's annual Summer Meeting! In the midst of a busy week, we are grateful to have had the chance to collaborate, strategize, and connect as a coalition.

Shoutout to @stonebreakerhotel for lodging us, and to our fabulous farm and food system tour hosts: @springcreekfoodhub, @caff_ar_farms, and @ozarknaturalfoods for making time to give us an in-depth understanding of Northwest Arkansas's local food system 💚

You can check out the full Summer Meeting recap at NSAC's blog: https://sustainableagriculture.net/blogor visit the link in our bio!

Field trip day! 🚜
Everyone loves a field trip, including school nutrition directors and university staff! Our group had the opportunity to visit Middle Fork Farm, CAFF, and Cobblestone to tour their operations, learn about their work, and, most importantly, meet the farmers behind the food.
There’s something special about seeing a picture of the farmer who grows your food, but it’s another thing entirely to meet them, walk their land, hear their story, and see the carrots that will eventually make their way into the meals we serve at school.
These experiences help connect the dots between farm, farmer, and school meal, and remind us just how much work and care goes into the food on our students’ plates.
What a great day of learning, connecting, and growing!

Supporting local food systems starts right here on campus!

The CAFF Farm School Market is coming to the Arkansas Union Mall this summer with fresh produce grown by Farm School students. Starting July 16th, every Thursday, shop fresh produce from 11 AM to 1 PM. Shopping local helps support Arkansas agriculture, reduce food transportation distance, and strengthen more sustainable food systems.

Even better, proceeds from the market directly support Farm School student scholarships and hands-on agricultural education opportunities.

Stop by this summer and support sustainability, local growers, and student success all in one place.
