Longlegs. Right off the bat this is one of those suspenseful thrillers that when its all over you will say out loud “what the fu@k did I just watch!”. It’s crazy and its bonkers and it would unsettle the most experienced horror fan so don’t go in expecting anything less than weird. The film gives a lot of ‘Silence of the lambs’ vibes throughout with a young female FBI investigator with a clear intuition towards murder and a sometimes-dismissive superior who disregards her more often than she would like. The comparisons stop there as where the lamb’s film is relatively grounded, Longlegs delves into the supernatural past the midway point becoming a totally different genre of horror. Its cleverly done to a point where you are genuinely unsure is this still a horror thriller or a horror/supernatural thriller, but you can decide that yourself. I didn't particularly enjoy Monroes performance, it is a little underwhelming although this is exactly what her character is, someone underwhelming yet the right person for the job who no one is listening to when they should be following her every word so I guess she nailed it 🤷🏻‍♂️ though it does get irritating. Cage doesn't quite steal the show but this is mostly due to lack of screen time. His characters face is something you will want to forget and his mannerisms make every second he is on screen feel creepy and uneasy so I would say he did nail it. The sound used in the more gruesome moments is like that razor blades over wire it just makes you uneasy throughout. The filming style is straight from the 80s or early 90s and it looks like it was made on a seriously low budget but this doesn’t take away anything. If you loved The Silence of The Lambs you will enjoy this but maybe not as much as that is a classic. RANT OVER!

👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 LEGGETE L'ARTICOLO COMPLETO SUL NOSTRO SITO ASSONANZE.COM (LINK NEI COMMENTI) #cinema #cinematographer #cinematography #film #films #filmreview #filmoftheday #movie #movies #movieoftheday #thriller #nicholascage #anni90 #Hollywood #instacinema #instamovie #instamovies
