SHE WROTE IT. SHE PRODUCED IT. SHE DIRECTED IT. AND NOW IT’S BEEN NOMINATED 5 TIMES. 🎬🏆

My debut directorial film and Master’s MRP, BREAKING THROUGH, has received FIVE nominations at the 10th Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) 2026!

What a beautiful beginning to my directing journey.

🏆 Best Actress (Canada)
🏆 Best Short Drama
🏆 Best Supporting Actress
🏆 Best Student Short Film
🏆 Best Film by a Female Filmmaker (Canada)

What started as an academic project became a deeply personal filmmaking journey, and seeing it nominated at a Canadian Screen Award-qualifying and Telefilm Canada-qualifying festival is an indescribable feeling.

To the great TMU: Thanks for the opportunity.

To my supervisor & second reader: thank you for believing in me, sometimes more than I believed in myself.

To my phenomenal cast: thank you for trusting the story, embracing these characters, and bringing so much truth and heart to every frame. Your performances are the soul of this film.

To my incredible crew: thank you for your talent, patience, creativity, long hours, problem-solving, and unwavering belief in this project. It takes a village to bring a vision to life.

And to everyone who supported this project, encouraged me throughout my Master’s journey or simply asked, “How’s the film going?” Thank you 🙏🏽.

This recognition belongs to all of us.

This is more than five nominations. It’s a reminder that the first step matters.

And perhaps, for me, this was also the first step towards a new chapter behind the camera.

I'm a bit behind on posting, but here's some BTS from "Breaking Character"! Your typical straight makeups, plus a little extra on one of the main characters playing a strict acting teacher. As always, had a great time on set, thank you so much for having me 🫶
