I thought Iโ€™d get away from the sappy end-of-season posts this yearโ€ฆ. But Iโ€™d be wrong.

After ending last winter debating if I ever wanted to kick out of a start gate again, Iโ€™m finishing this season with a smile on my face, something that didnโ€™t feel possible if you were to talk to Kendahl a year ago. This season wasnโ€™t about results or titles; it was about learning to love the sport again and finding my happiness.

I wasnโ€™t very vocal about the degree of mental health troubles I faced last season because itโ€™s not an easy topic to talk about, especially on the internet, but I think itโ€™s an important one. Mental health is an invisible injury that is easy to overlook. I spent a lot of time reluctant to admit anything was wrong because itโ€™s scary to look in the mirror and accept that your brain is not healthy, and itโ€™s even harder to accept when you donโ€™t quite know whatโ€™s going wrong, just that you feel like an empty shell. I found it easier to say that I wasnโ€™t mentally fit for the sport or that I couldnโ€™t handle the pressure of it instead of accepting that something was really wrong. I had to put a lot of work into getting to the place I am today, and for once, Iโ€™m looking forward to next winter. I feel so lucky to have the people around me who picked me up and carried me through the tough times when I couldnโ€™t even carry myself. It was a hard road, but it was worth it.

I want to thank UVM skiing for welcoming me with open arms and creating an environment that made me fall in love with skiing again. This team was exactly what I didnโ€™t know I needed.

Unfortunately, a silly crash before NCAAs ended up being a little more serious than I initially thought, and my season is ending before nationals. A partially torn ACL and a fracture in my tibia are gonna keep me off snow for 2-3 months, but after last year, this feels like a piece of cake. Iโ€™m so excited to continue this journey, and I canโ€™t wait to ski you all next year.

All smiles on the Eastern front.

This year taught me that a glow stick has to break to glow! Iโ€™m taking the lessons from 2025 and hoping 2026 will be the greatest year ever. As always, Iโ€™m SO excited for whatโ€™s to come, and Iโ€™m feeling incredibly grateful for the people and the experiences that made this year great ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

Ski ya next year!

This is my goodbye to ski racing. Skiing has taught me a lot over my whole life. I have learned almost all I know and met all my friends through this sport. Looking back at all the memories brings me tears of joy. Iโ€™m so grateful for how much fun Iโ€™ve had with all these great people along the way.

After the silly โ€œcrashโ€ I had a few weeks ago I tore my acl and meniscus and just recently had surgery. In a few months Iโ€™m due for another surgery that is related to my previous injuries. Due to these complications it has been difficult and Iโ€™ve decided to move forward in my next journey.

As of my caption of โ€œlive a good storyโ€ this has been an amazing chapter. Iโ€™m looking forward to the next chapter being just as special as this one.

Thank you to my mom and dad for the endless love and support throughout all the highs and lowsโค๏ธ @christiwilson22 @erikwilson1886
