@amtrak Pacific Surfliner between Los Angeles and San Diego runs so close to the ocean you can almost touch the water. Definitely one of the top Amtrak routes, especially on a per mile basis. Packs a punch!

Arizona sunset of the day. 🌅

“There’s a sunrise and a sunset every day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.”

Highpoint number 20 achieved on the way out to AZ: Campbell Hill, Ohio. Coming up on halfway in my state highpoint quest. This one actually has a webcam so folks back home (or elsewhere) can see you on the summit!

White soft sand, clear, warm water. Very few people on the beach. How are you spending your Sunday?

The allure of water in the desert. The Paría River flows around boulders brought down the canyon or eroded from the walls by flash flooding during tropical storms and monsoons.

From the second day of my 900 mile hike from the Colorado River at Lee’s Ferry through southern Utah and then south to Mexico.
