While Caleb didn’t get to leave with the @thetourua Junior Nationals trophy, holding a couple British and US Open trophies will have to do 😂. Thanks for the visit @ernieelsgolf

Finding the positive in things isn’t always easy if you’re only looking for them in results. You can put all the work in, prepare as best as you can, and things just go horribly wrong from a performance standpoint in golf and in life. This has been one of those experiences for Caleb at Nationals. He came in with a goal and had a realistic chance of achieving that goal but ended up shooting the highest score ever of his career on day one. The wheels came completely off, and stayed off.

Now for the positive. In the past, he would have walked around getting angry all day. We kept chatting while just he kept grinding and fighting. The last hole of the championship course at @pganational was an example of that, ending with a birdie on that par 5. It’s not the birdie in the video that was impressive, because the reality is there was very little impressive golf today, but it was the determination to keep going and to keep fighting through the disappointment or the embarrassment that he felt that was impressive. That is an experience we will never forget. I couldn’t be more proud of @caleb_golf19

This was a humbling reminder to never take time we get to spend together for granted. Enjoy every minute even when it is tough to see the positives, because we’re usually just looking for them in the wrong places.

Thank you to the Els family for being incredible hosts!!

First lesson with @caleb_golf19. Caleb had the tendency to get his hands too high in the backswing, he would then pull the handle down in transition, kick the hands out late in an attempt to shallow, stall and flip. We needed to create more depth in the backswing and then clean up the downswing pivot and sequencing. Check out how we did it!

Arkansas Under Armour league champion with another good tournament win today. Qualified to represent Arkansas at the @thetourua Winter Nationals at @pganational in February with a low score season average of 36 using the top 3 scores of the season to qualify. Now back to work @caleb_golf19.
