This summer I had the most amazing opportunity to be apart of the Lamar Governor’s Fellowship Program with some of the most incredible people. I was assigned to the Department of Transportation and Development and got to work with and learn from Secretary Donahue. With the program, we got to experience many state departments, programs, agencies, and more. The field trips were one of my favorite parts of the whole thing. Besides exploring the state departments here in Baton Rouge, we also got to go to Angola Prison, Grande Isle, 1st Circuit Court of Appeals, the Governor’s Mansion, and many more! We even took a class through LSU to learn about public policy and got to create our own policy proposals to present at the Capitol! I am so happy I got to experience everything that this program had to offer and look forward to seeing where these new experiences and connections will take me. #godblesslouisiana
