One week ago, @bellesmusic released her debut album, Midwestern! Two years in the making, and what a record. So proud of @johnnysings and @awesomeluther , and grateful to the songwriters and players who helped bring it to life. And a heartfelt thank you to Kent Wells for being part of this journey. A milestone for East Music Row Records as our first album release…and a gift from @dollyparton we’ll treasure forever. ♥️

Recording is mostly taking pictures of the backs of people’s heads while they spin gold; it’s also caffeine and food and laughter and joy. Pulling music out of thin air with ppl u love is the greatest activity ever and it always will be. New Margo record comin! 👀👀

We’re BACK, baby! My new song, “All My Yesterdays”, is out now!

This song is an honest reflection of a good and ever-changing life. In some ways, it almost feels like reading a journal entry into a microphone. It’s not particularly poetic or romanticized, but it’s my attempt to memorialize my appreciation for the tiny sliver of the world that I can call mine.

Musically speaking, I’ve jumped around quite a bit between funk and folk (and I’ll continue that), but I thought of a phrase that sums up how I’ve been trying to blend these worlds:

✨ songs that move you | songs to move to ✨

As expected, life’s been full of ups and downs since you’ve last heard from me. I’ve had a few wins, and I’ve taken a few things to the chin. What hasn’t changed is that I’m surrounded by some of the most wonderful people in the world. To name a few, that’d be @colinboyddrums on the drums (shocking, I know), @blackxneck on the bass guitar, @smilehighmusic on the keys, @finetales on the horns, @calebfisher at the helm for mixing, and @mrmaster3000 on mastering duties.

Finally, this stunning artwork was hand-painted by my dear friend @hopiewrites (@hope.tabor). I took inspiration from an earlier piece of her work, and she was kind enough to lend her talents to this project! In the age of AI, it’s of the utmost importance to me to enlist the human heart, hands and mind in every ounce of my work. It’s a reflection of the beauty that surrounds us all in this big, crazy world. I know it can get dark out there, but there is always light to be found if we work hard enough.

I hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as I enjoyed making it, and if you feel so compelled, please share it with some friends. That’s all for now!❤️‍🔥
