New Zealand you treated me well! Choosing photos to showcase the 4 months there was hard but here’s some of my favourite places, moments, views and people (including Kermit). It's impossible to have photos of everything and everyone so to sum it up it was lots of skiing, even more bootpacking, some sunburns, a few road trips, so many amazing views and a ton of new friends!

The Great Birthday Debacle

The birthday feast began with flair,
A nacho table—chips everywhere.
Mountains of cheese, salsa rivers that flow,
No plate required, just grab and go.

Crunching and dipping, a glorious spread,
Cheese on the table and crumbs to be fed.
A feast so bold, a nacho delight,
The sort of snack that lasted all night.

Later at the beach with sea in the air,
Kendamas spinning everywhere.
A flick and a catch, the tide rolling in—
When suddenly Dani committed a sin.

Dani farted.The moment froze,
Caleb caught it straight up the nose.
He doubled over, laughing hard,
Kendama forgotten, guard fully downed.

Meanwhile Ursey, with artistic grace,
Was shaping pottery… a troubling vase.
Disturbing forms no one could place,
“Is that a mug… or a haunted face?”

Sam arrived with baker’s pride,
A gluten-free cake held high at their side.
“Well… tried,” they said with hopeful cheer,
But the cake collapsed… we’ll end that here.

Joe and I, after weeks apart,
Finally sat down for a catch-up start.
Silly stories, laughs that grew,
“Wait—you did WHAT?” — “No way, that’s true?”

The kind of chat that tumbles along,
Half the details slightly wrong.
Just laughs and tales from near and far,
The best kind of catch-ups always are.

So here’s to birthdays wild and odd—
Nachos, pottery slightly flawed.
Beachside laughs and stories we share,
A party full of chaos and care.

How I got some pretty sweet cycle tan lines…

4 day ‘pedal and pint’ cycle trip through the Otago backcountry, stopping at historic pubs and cycling 370km from Macraes to Queenstown. A few mishaps and wrong turns along the way, but made it in one piece with the help of lovely locals, some great MacGyver skills and a bunch of zip ties. Glad to share epic downhills, laughs and wrong turns with @calebshong, and catch up with @dan_mcclay_13 along the way.
