In the midst of our “Be the Light” t-shirt release and World Down syndrome day celebrations Grace had her senior year swim team banquet. And she received a varsity letter....AGAIN! Yay:) How? Just how is she a senior? Isn’t her senior banner cute!? It hung on our aquatic center wall all season. She loves swim! Life gets disheartening when one bad thing after another is all we seem to hear about lately. So I wanna take a minute to say..I ❤️ Calhoun.. I tease my friends who have lived here all of their lives (some whose grandparents were childhood friends, no joke) by saying "now remember, I'm not a local" 😉😂 but I have lived here for almost 12 years now and it has grown on me! Today I was reminded to be thankful for "my town" when: -at 7am I dropped Avery off to go to the State Capitol where NOT 1~BUT 3 different CHS teams were recognized by the governor for winning state championships~

-this morning I took Quinn to Chick-fil-A to get breakfast and some Chicken Minis for his lunch as a treat, but when I pulled up to pay, the person in front of me had paid for all of that. It's Feb not Christmas!! Quinn was so confused because he thought we must know the person if they paid for it. How sad to me that he thinks someone wouldn't show kindness to a complete stranger. But he saw it today. (So thank you random stranger for showing my 11 yr old that there is kindness in the world💙)
-and also a week or so ago, after a Sat morning workout with the hubs, we went for coffee and breakfast at a local downtown establishment, Calhoun Coffee Co,and got to visit with our neighbors and a close friend that we rarely see. That would never happen in larger towns.
