We often cringe when someone asks to borrow a knife. But not @cali.edc , in fact, he says “let me loan you a few knives” and then ships them from Cali all the way to Texas! What a solid dude!!

My daughter’s birthday is next week and I’m feeling all sorts of emotions. She starts kindergarten this year and is slowly turning into this beautiful, smart and strong opinionated little girl, and I love every second of it.
This one quote resonates with me so much these days.
“The best part of being a parent is watching your kids grow up, the worst part of being a parent, is watching your kids grow up”.

This years #1m1k some shots from throughout the month.
It was interesting carrying an otf for a month straight. I have mixed feelings about this particular one, and I’m pretty happy the month is over. Let’s not do this again.

welp, managed to go a whole month without losing it [again] 🖋️🗡️ a “pen knife” dates back to days when people would scribe ink onto paper by first having something sharp and thin enough to slice a nib into the end of a quill 🪶 then dipping this newly-formed nib into ink (walnut ink and white-tailed kite feather seen here) and lettin those words flow! 📜 turns out it takes significantly longer than i thought. by this method and font size, maybe 2 or 3 letters before having to reload the ink. makes even modern fountain pens seem like such a luxury. anyhoo, this was a fun “challenge” in this group of knife enthusiasts, junkies, collectors, dorks. only carrying and using one knife for the month of august. sharpening, stropping was allowed. no other modifications after the start of the month. i chose the spyderco uk pen knife hailing from golden, colorado, usa, earth🌎 , vp creations vintage black linen micarta scales from the uk with pocket clip milling added by chase of boatright bladeworks. media blasted hardware by chase (matte finish), crowned spine, ferric chloride etch, brass and copper tumble and sharpening by me. too easy! 8/8 gr8 m8. would go again
🇬🇧🖋️🗡️ the pen is mighter than the sword
