The touring build is “Complete”

Thanks to new build partner @falkentire and @blackrhinowheels our Toyota Land Cruiser 250 is built for long distance and rugged terrain.

I know most of you love the aggressive poke and beefy tires, but I’m going for the touring/safari look - So I went with “slim” 35s. These aren’t as beefy as the popular 35x12.5, but so much lighter and more comfortable at approx. 20lbs lighter. However, I did go with the Wildpeak RT01s to still give it a more aggressive look and functionality for more rugged terrain.

Now I just need a bigger gas tank 😉

Some people think the white SUV with black accents is played out…

That’s why I wrapped it in @xpel Stealth PPF to make it stand out a bit with the bonus of high-end paint protection.

For anyone buying a new rig for off-roading and overlanding, I highly recommend PPF as one of your first mods. One less worry out on the trail.

This week's big mod was the long-awaited PPF wrap. Chasing the last bit of light in the hottest place on earth with our built-out Land Cruiser 250.

Camping in Death Valley is very much doable during the winter months. During this time, most campgrounds are first come first serve, so try and arrive during the weekday.

Here are some of my favorite overglamping/camping gear & accessories I have mounted to the exterior of the LC250:
- @kammok Crosswing Awning
• Much needed for desert camping where shade is
scarce
- @howlcampfires R1 + Rally Mount
• Desert days are still warm during the winter months
but the night temps drop really fast.
• Also very helpful when wood fires are not allowed.
- @gofsr Odyssey XL Roof Top Tent
• RTTs are still a very convenient option for shelter in
many camping situations. Quick setup and
takedown.

Overlanding is a slow and calculated journey. Same goes for the build process. For those of you who are just getting started, like myself, there’s no better way of knowing what you need and what mods to do until you actually get out there and experience it.

“Pro” tip: Before you spend the money, buy a new/used 4x4, and slap on a bunch of mods, get out there with what you have and experience it. Some may even find out that overlanding is not for them and it isn’t for everyone.

A good’ol splash in the creek.

Ventured out to Monache Meadows for the weekend with my son for a quick weekend camp session. Beautiful fall colors and smaller crowds this time of year. However, it did get very cold so please be prepared. We woke up to a temperature of 10deg 🥶.
