This month we celebrated three New England women whose work reminds us why the things made with intention mean so much.

Erin. Megan. Callie.

A textile designer, a painter, a florist. Each one a mirror. Each one a reminder that the life you build around yourself, the art on your walls, the flowers on your table, the jewelry on your body, says something about who you are and who you are still becoming.

Beauty does not have to be perfect to be extraordinary.

Those who make their livings in fine jewelry know this.

Despite the deep precision of the craft, consider what makes it so.

Every earth-mined gemstone. Each one of a kind. Each one with its own destiny. Set into the warm karat gold or cool white metal that was made for it. No decision is one size fits all. The result, the fine jewelry in our cases, is wearable artistry in action.

Callie’s flowers tell the same truth. Her blooms are tended by hand, nurtured by the messy, unpredictable elements of nature. Beauty is not diminished by its impermanence. It is deepened by it.

A peony opens for a week. Maybe less. At its peak it is almost unbearably beautiful. And then it is gone. Not one person who ever received a peony wished they hadn’t, because the beauty was temporary.

Fine jewelry is different. And yet.

A diamond lasts forever, but no two days of wearing the same piece are ever truly the same. The ring you wore on the morning everything changed. The necklace layered differently because your hair was up for once.

The piece is permanent. The moment is not.

And the moment is everything. Style is mutable. Self-expression shifts. The woman who chose that ring five years ago is not exactly the woman wearing it today, and the ring is more interesting for having known both of them.

Callie’s is on Summer Break! 🌸🍊🍉

As the end of summer approaches, I’ve decided our little shop needs a break. Walker, has officially made his arrival, and for the remainder of August I’ll be soaking up some extra time with him and our family while preparing for a very flower-filled September.

Our retail storefront will be taking a break from regular hours, but all scheduled wedding and event work will continue as planned.

Come September, weddings will be our primary focus. I also hope to offer some select seasonal specials featuring what’s blooming on the flower farm. This means we won’t be hosting our regular storefront hours for now, so keep an eye on stories for fresh flower specials, available pick-up + delivery dates, and updates as we head into Fall.

🌸 Appreciation Post 🌸

I am so grateful, beyond words, to be included in so many fantastic Mother’s Day plans to shower the women that shape our lives and teach us so much. 💞 The way you all care about the Mom’s in your life really warms me up.

I hope all the moms that received our fresh flowers for Mother’s Day are out there enjoying them in their kitchen, on their bedside tables, and or in their pretty little bathrooms.

This year’s Mother’s Day was incredibleee. We sold out this year - to the point here I closed my shop today because we’re waiting on more inventory to arrive. 🙏🏼

I can’t thank this flower loving community enough for getting behind my little flower shop. Sharing our name, my business card, or recommending us to a friend is how others find out about us. And I appreciate every. single. order.

👉🏼 For those of you new - I’m Callie, the owner of Callie’s Flower Shop & Design Studio. A quick reintroduction to me..
• Today is my birthday 🎂🙃
• I’ve been with the love of my life for 14 years. We’ll always be ride or die. ⚔️
• We have a 3 y/o daughter, named Marigold. She often ‘helps’ me in shop and gardens. I hope someday she’ll run the shop with me!
• Before flowers, I was (and am still am) a certified PMP. I spent 10 yrs in corporate America contracting and implementing multimillion dollar software projects.
• I went to school for business, so when people ask me ‘did you ever see yourself running business?’ - the answer is always yes. I knew I’d run a business, but I always thought it would be C-suite at a fortune 500. I’m so happy that I went this route instead and really enjoy the freedom of entrepreneurship - even when it gets tough!
