🎭 26.120 - ICHOR - Intense, physical study on masculinity and identity

The performers create a volatile collective society, imposing and breaking boundaries. It's territorial, masculine, and ultimately vulnerable. A sense of evolution drives the work, which is rendered universal through unfamiliar sounds and language. The language belongs to no one, so we are all compelled to decipher it in the same way.

👥 The cast is locked-in, giving energy and sensitivity at the right moments. The choreography and vocalisations are intricate, relying on heavy repetition with subtle deviations that require great precision.

🎨 The lighting captures the sense of evolution. The teal-purple scene is stunning, creating a sleek vaporwave aesthetic. The complex, rhythmic music adds tension to the atmosphere.

🎯 A very physical performance that creates a parallel universe of tension we can readily recognise.

John Fabry @johnfabry presents ICHOR at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists @pact_sydney as part of Sydney Fringe. @sydneyfringe

Knowing John since 2018 he previously excellently performed in my award winning Women in Shadow performance 2018 and Impulse 2023 (the award winning video art), John now choreographed ICHOR a provocative and deeply compelling performance brought to life by an exceptional cast. @antkingy_ @matteop_99 @b.prendergast1 @johnfabry @callumstephenn

There is so much to be inspired by in this bold work. A powerful performance indeed.👌🏻💫💫💫💫💫
