Another date change! The info session is now moved from Feb 13th to March 6th due to room availability and weather constraints. We hope you will join us then.

At this info session, we will be taking about the concentrated and collaborative student effort to establish a thrift store on campus.

In the world of university thrift stores, nothing is for certain. However, we know that many would like to see such a thing become a reality at Cal Poly. Thus, if you have any interest in the matter, or want to inquire how you might be able to help, come join us at our info session.

We will be there to give a quick background on what has been going on, answer any questions, and collect feedback from participants. All are welcome!

Help us make sustainable shopping more accessible! 🌱 Sign the petition to establish a permanent thrift store on campus. By giving clothes and items a second life, we can reduce waste, support affordability for students, and build a community around eco-conscious living. Every signature counts—let’s show our university the demand for sustainable solutions! 💚📝 Link in bio to sign and support!

EVENT RECAP!

Last week, the Food Pantry Garden hosted a garden tea party with Safer and CP Scholars.

Everyone who came out had the opportunity to DIY a mug, sip some tea, socialize, and help out with the garden!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this awesome event happen, and if you missed out this time, make sure to keep an eye on our page so you don’t miss the fun in the future! 🌱🫖🍯🌸

It was a busy weekend for Cal Poly Honors and Morro Coast Audubon (MCAS) collaboration!

Honors students Ashley Sanft, Xanthus Silverstein, and Zachary Weinfeld teamed up with CP student Ryan Bloom, Cuesta student Max Taylor, and honors alum and current Program Director for MCAS Torrey Gage-Tomlinson to design a poster for Earth Day at Laguna Lake detailing the effects of plastics on marine birds.

Additionally, Ashley Sanft helped lead an MCAS ACE (Active Community Engagement) class at Carrizo Plain on Sunday, sharing her knowledge of ethnobotany. Check out the MCAS Instagram to learn more about upcoming ACE Class opportunities!

Stay tuned for more MCAS and CP Honors collaboration moving forward!

1) Xanthus helps fold bird origami at Earth Day!
2) Ashley and Torrey talk birds and botany at Carrizo Plain.
3) Xanthus and Ashley showcase the poster.
4) Ashley and class participants take in the splendor of Carrizo Plain.
5) Max, Susie (MCAS event coordinator), and Zachary at the MCAS Earth Day booth.

Thanks to @tatumelshire for the photos!

Some encourage-mint for the end of the quarter! While you’re studying hard this week, don’t forget to prioritize nutrition! Your brain needs fuel to function 💡 so feed your body with that in mind 🧠‼️

Spring break is close, and the garden will be sprouting new exciting things soon.

Good luck in Week 10 Mustangs, finish strong! 💪🏽🏁
