Why Go Greek? 💚💛

There’s no one better to ask than those who have been there. We asked our Greek Life advisors to reflect on their own fraternity and sorority experience and share why they continue to encourage students to participate in recruitment.

From lifelong friendships and leadership opportunities to personal growth and finding a true sense of belonging, Greek Life has impacted them long after graduation.

Swipe through to hear their stories and discover why taking a chance on recruitment could be one of the best decisions you make. Remember to sign up for recruitment using the link in our bio!

Game Day DJ

Cal Poly Athletics is looking for a Game Day DJ to enhance the fan experience. Ideal candidates have a professional ear for audio levels and crowd reactions and can adjust on the fly. They are comfortable reading the crowd, making musical selections that elevate the atmosphere, and hyping big moments. The Game Day DJ is a key part of the production, familiar with a wide variety of music genres and crowd prompts, with the ability to edit music for objectionable content.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide fan-appropriate musical entertainment before, during, and after events
Review scripts and meet with the Game Day Manager prior to events
Work with the Game Day Manager on playlists, intro music, and cues for the assigned sport
Participate in pre- and post-season evaluation meetings with the event management team
Review and understand NCAA and Big Sky rules regarding game audio before the season

Individuals interested in serving as a Game Day Host for Cal Poly football are invited to attend the Cal Poly Athletics Game Day Host Tryouts on Sunday, August 9, at 10 a.m. at Alex G. Spanos Stadium (1 Grand Ave, San Luis Obispo, CA 93407).

Selected participants will be invited back for callback auditions on Thursday, August 13, at 6 p.m.

Game Day Host is more than simply energizing a crowd, Cal Poly Athletics is looking for individuals who can serve as welcoming Game Day Hosts and storytellers. Ideal candidates are comfortable on the microphone, enjoy interacting with fans of all ages, and can create memorable moments through authentic conversation, promotions, contests and in-game features.

Successful Game Day Host will help fans feel connected to the Mustang gameday experience while representing Cal Poly Athletics with professionalism, enthusiasm and school spirit.

Throughout the audition process, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their public speaking abilities, crowd interaction skills, creativity and stage presence through a variety of game day scenarios.

Those selected will play an important role throughout the year by welcoming fans, hosting in-game promotions, recognizing special guests, telling the stories happening around the venue and helping create an engaging, family-friendly atmosphere at Mustang athletic events.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Crowd Engagement: Lead live-action segments, contests, and interactive games on the video board or field/court during timeouts and breaks.

· Script & Flow Execution: Follow the game-day production script closely, working with producers and directors to hit exact time cues.

· Fan & Guest Interviews: Interview fans, youth participants, or team personalities live in-venue or for broadcast streams.
