Congratulations to Hilo High’s Sandler Everly. A senior, Sandler was the @biif_surf top ranked shortboard board athlete and ranked third in longboard. The @cheeponofoundation awarded Sandler a $500 scholarship to help him pursue his higher education goals. Sandler will be attending @calpoly in the fall. Hopefully, he can compete for the @calpolyslosurfteam next year. He’ll need a wetsuit though cause the water on Cali’s central coast stay freezing! Good luck at states Sandler! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

On May 6 at the Performing Arts Center (@pacslo), The Lifeguard Project (@thelifeguardproject) and Ben Carlson Foundation (@bencarlson_foundation) will present a film showing of Part of Water (@partofwater) , a documentary in memory of fallen Newport Beach Lifeguard (@newportbeachlifeguards) Ben Carlson.

Presented in conjunction with the 1st Annual Responder Round-Up, this special community screening provides an opportunity to support and the responders who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe, and San Luis Obispo County’s progressive drowning policy updates.

Responders participating in the training event and VIP tickets can attend the pre-film happy hour with free drinks from @805beer and all of our first responders.
