Soooo I think we’re adding kinusaiga to the fiber art toolbox…because what’s another side quest to chase after am I right?!

Shout out to @calvillo.creations for bringing all the essentials on her trip to NY a couple weeks ago and introducing us both to this new art form!

10/10 recommend and I already have my giant sheet of foam and next idea planned out. The best part? My oldest is super interested in this, too! So I can’t wait to start making projects along side her

Sometimes you just need a couple of hours to turn your brain off, make something cute, and enjoy a little time for yourself💛

And that’s exactly what we’re doing this Thursday, October 22nd, from 6pm-8pm at The Moderne Loft!

We’re getting together with Calvillo Creations to make the cutest little Halloween embroidery pieces in vintage-inspired frames, and I cannot wait!

Whether you’ve never picked up a needle and thread or embroidery is already something you love, we want you there!

There’s something so comforting about sitting around a table with good people, learning something new, laughing together, and just enjoying the moment. No pressure to be perfect, no need to bring a friend (although you absolutely can!), just come as you are and enjoy a little brain break with us.

These evenings are about so much more than just crafting. They’re about finding community, making new friends, having the best laughs, and remembering how good it feels to do something simply because you enjoy it.

Grab your tickets at the link in our bio, and we’ll see you Thursday💛

“But never have I been a blue calm sea; I have always been a storm” - Storms, Fleetwood Mac

Created for @calvillo.creations in an art trade back in July 2024. This was my first project in attempting to stitch on fabric, cut it out, and transfer it to another mounting place.

The arched doorway is inspired by the self entitled @fleetwoodmac album cover from 1975. I tried capturing the idea of a crashing wave inside the door and mounted both a piece of deep blue satin

This was my first experimentation at thread blending and learned a whole lot! Also played with textures by adding in the color variation with the beads
