Honored and grateful don’t do it justice.

I’m more inspired than anything to continue pushing forward. To keep making Mama, Grandma and all the ancestors and descendants proud.

So proud to see my @calvin.c.hughes
honored through the Calvin Hughes Scholarship, supporting the next generation of journalists.

It’s a meaningful recognition of his dedication to journalism and a lasting part of his legacy: opening doors for young people to find their voices and tell the stories that matter.

So happy to celebrate this with you, my love. Your impact reaches far beyond the newsroom. ❤️

Grateful for the opportunity to serve as a panelist at the @OICofSouthFlorida Middle Class Summit at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

We had meaningful conversations around entrepreneurship, AI, innovation, economic mobility and the future of work — all topics that are reshaping how we build businesses and create opportunity.

It was also an honor to celebrate 25 years of impact by OIC of South Florida and recognize the leadership of Newton B. Sanon and his team.

Thankful to have been part of the conversation and surrounded by so many leaders committed to moving South Florida forward.

Two days. 400+ leaders. One shared future.

Day 2 of the bi-annual 2026 Middle Class Summit continued what we started on Day 1, bringing even more conversations, perspectives, and opportunities to connect around the future of economic mobility and the middle class.

As our two days together came to a close, one thing was clear: the conversations may have started at the Summit, but the work continues beyond the room. The connections made, ideas exchanged, and solutions explored are part of how we continue creating pathways to opportunity and strengthening communities across South Florida.

On behalf of OIC of South Florida’s Board Chairman, Eugene K. Pettis, President & CEO Newton B. Sanon, our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers, thank you to every attendee, speaker, panelist, sponsor, and partner who helped make the 2026 Middle Class Summit unforgettable.

We look forward to continuing the work together and welcoming you back for the next Middle Class Summit in 2028.

Imagine. Innovate. Elevate.

A year ago today, I was blessed to receive the 2025 Calvin Hughes Scholarship from @nabjsouthflorida !

Fast forward to this weekend… I celebrated my little sister, @ayannahowardtv_, as she received the Rochelle Bridges Memorial Scholarship at NABJ’s Scholarship Award Ceremony!

This event was filled with networking, new connections, valuable advice, and reminders of what it takes to make it in this industry. Being surrounded by some of the best journalists in the field motivates me to keep learning, growing, and becoming the storyteller I know I’m meant to be! 🥹📰🩷

The fruits of my labor!

The 2026 NABJ scholarship awards was such a beautiful event. Having a crowd of black excellence all under one roof just to pour into each other is something that cannot be taken for granted. I’m beyond honored to accept the Calvin Hughes Scholarship, and this is only the beginning!

Did you know Fort Lauderdale has a women’s professional soccer team? ⚽️

There’s something special about getting a front-row seat to talent in action.

I recently had the pleasure of working with four of Fort Lauderdale United FC’s superstars behind the scenes for their commercial spots at Local 10 News; getting them camera-ready and, of course, sharing plenty of laughs and good cheer along the way!

Beautiful, talented, confident women bringing their A-game both on and off the field.

It was such a fun experience, and I’m honored to have played a small part in bringing their on-camera moments to life.

Now I can’t wait to see them do what they do best, on the field! 🥅⚽️

Fort Lauderdale, we have a team to cheer for. 🎉
See you there! @ftlutd @abihugh @ellagsimpson @sheamoy @kiara.locklear
