New Orleans bred House dj, living in Philly. House, Disco, Funk Soul and Jazz fill my weekends.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This Saturday, October 17th DJ Moon will be our special guest DJ on Real House! Something for the breaks heads this time! Looking forward to this one! Saturday, October 17th on WKDU Philadelphia 91.7FM & WKDU.org worldwide!!!

DJ Moon has been spinning and producing funky, breakbeat‑flavored music since the mid‑90s, coming out of Lafayette, Louisiana with a sound rooted in electro, Miami bass, rave culture, and classic dance music. He’s a producer, remixer, DJ, label owner, and radio personality who’s kept the breaks and dance community moving for decades.

Moon’s catalog stretches across respected labels like Juice Recordings, London Breakz, Toast & Jam, Hoodwink, Spaced Out, CaGe, 418 Music and more — along with the two imprints he runs himself: Pumpin Records and Bayou Beats. His releases are known for punchy drums, heavy basslines, and that funky swing DJs reach for when they want the floor to react. Over the years he’s stacked originals, collabs, and compilation appearances with artists across the breaks, electro, and tribal spectrum, including ongoing work with wigglefist, Arial Illustrious, Kris Flowers, and a deep bench of underground producers.

His remix credits hit both underground heroes and major dance acts. Moon has delivered official remixes for Groove Armada, DJ Dan & Jim Hopkins (The Electroliners), Newcleus, Delerium, Rebecca & Fiona, Dudearella and others...always adding that signature Moon twist that makes his versions hit harder in the mix.

Outside the studio, DJ Moon is part of the on‑air lineup at BIG 102.1 FM in Lafayette, where he appears on the Saturday Night BIG Mix... a weekly two‑hour ride through 80s and 90s dance, breaks, electro, and early 2000s club music. Every Saturday from 10 p.m. to midnight, he blends classics, deep cuts, and feel‑good energy for listeners across South Louisiana and beyond.

DJ Moon keeps it funky, keeps it breakbeat, and keeps both the dance floor and the airwaves locked into that timeless, feel‑good groove. We're happy to have this breakbeat Vet on our show.... Don't miss it!!!

SEPTEMBER MOON JAM: DRUM CIRCLE EDITION. [NOT AI]

September will feel a bit different. We’re slowing down and embracing a calmer, more intentional night of live music, movement, fire, and community.

We’ll start at 7 PM with Bass Yoga by Spirit Lab, followed by sound healing at 7:45 PM with Kelsey, as Keegan Tawa joins us with melodic live instrumentation by 8 PM. Then, a drum circle staring at 8:30 PM.

Fire circle opens at 8PM.

Bring a drum. Dance. Flow. Spin fire or flow.

We’re inviting everyone into a more communal, ecstatic dance energy where musicians, drummers, dancers, and flow artists all contribute to building the atmosphere.

This is an experiment, so come play along.

Let’s channel some witchy September magic and see what we can create together.

SATURDAY, September 26 • 7–11 PM
Penn Treaty Park • Donations appreciated

Bring blankets, snacks, flow props, and your own drums or instruments.
