It’s #wipwedomesday but I don’t have many wips to share cause I’ve been frogging more than I’ve been knitting 🐸

Like many knitters, I was immediately obsessed with this open top, ear warmer thingy. I still think it’s so so cute! Alas, I struggled with how it fit over my big head. I don’t like how it stretches over the brim, lays over the back of the cap, or fits over a cap. I don’t mind how it wears without a cap, but in that case I would prefer a hat that covers my entire head lol

So I will be knitting a bonnet instead!

My obsessive little brain has kicked into overdrive this week working on the Isla Sweater. I started to knit this last Thursday evening and got it finished by Tuesday lunchtime which may be a new record for me. This sample is much more oversized and long than my usual style, and although I’m a bit torn on cropping the body a bit (fellow short torsoed pals will get this urge) it does feel nice to have a longer, super cosy option in my wardrobe. The second sample will have a more “classic” fit, similar to my Orla Sweater. Test call soon!

I’ve used @camarosedk Snefnug in the shades Mahogani, Lysbla, and Snehvid held with @knittingforolive Soft Silk Mohair in the shades Chocolate and Dusty Dove Blue and @sandnesgarn Tynn Silk Mohair in the shade Kitt for the first sample. I’m using Snefnug in the shades Lysbeige, Mork Rosa, and Mahogani held with @filcolana Tilia in the shades Champagne and Vintage Rose, with KFO Chocolate again. All yarn was bought by me from @tangledyarnuk, @beautifulknitters, @nofrillsknitting, and @knitt_yarns at various points in time.

💜 Es ist angekuschelt!

Snefnug und Midnatssol von @camarosedk in dunklem Lila und Flieder sind zusammen ein echter Traum. Daraus entsteht der Anna Cocoon – ein neues Strickprojekt, das ich für @knittingforelse teststricken darf. 🧶 Ich bin gespannt, wie sich die beiden Garne zusammen entwickeln.

Allerdings ist dunkle Wolle beim Stricken so eine Sache … deshalb hat sich meine neue “lila Brezel" direkt dazugesellt.

Was meint ihr, warum die lila Brezel bei diesem Projekt genau richtig ist? Und soll ich sie euch in den nächsten Tagen mal genauer vorstellen? 👀💜

I just love this time of the year, the colors, the fresh air and the smell of autumn. It’s getting colder, but you can still knit outside, and some evening you begin to light a fire. 🍁🍂☀️
So what is more fitting than to knit a real autumn jacket? @mme_filou designed a great combo of #alafosslopi and #alpacka or #cashmere the #rusticoutdoorjacket And it will get so warm, thick and cosy!!!! So happy to be a part of the testknit team! 🥰🧶

S O P H I E H O O D

This project is a gift for a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. 💕🌸

We have known each other since we were five years old, when we met on the first day of school back in the '90s!

Thirty years later — having grown up, lived, and traveled together, sharing laughs, tears, and everything in between — she is my best friend and a solid rock in my life. You feel so powerless when something like this happens to a person you love.

She is one of the strongest people I know. She is doing very well, and the treatment is working exactly as it should. She will get through this, and we will have many more years to make memories, laughing and crying together!

A Sophie Hood won't compensate for all the times she has been there for me or for what she is going through right now, but hopefully it will keep her head warm throughout the winter 🫶🏼

Hab meine Mittagspause heute gut genutzt, um das Stirnband weiterzustricken. Es ist so herrlich weich! 😍

Ungefähr die Hälfte fehlt noch, dann geht‘s ans Zusammennähen. Und was auch noch fehlt ist ein Name fürs Design - falls ihr Ideen habt, gern immer her damit.

Übrigens muss man beim Stirnband keine Reihen zählen und auch die Hin- und Rückreihe werden immer gleich gestrickt. Also wirklich entspannt und gut, wenn man noch keine oder kaum Strickerfahrung hat. 🙌🏻
