I’m as big on mobility work as anyone, but if that’s all I ever use for my athletes’ warm-ups, things are going to get stale pretty quickly.

These are some “gamified” movements I’ve been using lately to get athletes moving, competing, and having some fun before we get into the meat of the session.

I stole these from @emergeperformance, who has tons of other great examples on his page.

Warm-ups don’t have to be boring‼️

I first saw Glider Split Rollouts on @anthonyadamsperformance page and have been using them with my athletes ever since.

I love them as a way to expose athletes to end-range hip positions in a controlled, repeatable environment.

We see these positions all the time in sport:

• Tennis slides
• Reaching for first base
• A first baseman stretching for a ball
• A pitcher at foot plant
• Soccer lunges
• Volleyball digs
• And plenty more

Exposing athletes to this positioning in a controlled setting helps build the mobility, strength, and confidence to get into, and out of, it when it inevitably show up in sport.

Train positions before you have to perform them. 💪
