I quit university.
Packed my stuff.
Left home without a plan.

First stop: England 🇬🇧
Next stop: honestly… no idea.

So I’m documenting it all while I figure out what comes next.

The good, the bad, the completely random.

Maybe I’ll find where I’m going.
Maybe I’ll just keep going.

It’s September but it’s giving January vibes… and it’s kinda chic! 🥰

Hear me out… throughout my life, September has always been the start of something new. 🍁
🆕 term, new toolkit
🆕 season, new colours,
🆕 goals & targets,
🆕 mindset.

For me, September brings a time to re-evaluate, recalibrate and rebalance in order to end the year strong.

I think we spend far too much time measuring achievement by job titles, promotions, revenue and awards.

So I made a little list of the things that feel #kindachic to me this year to spur me on.

From celebrating my 4 year workiversary with a brilliant team at The Digital Voice™, celebrating culture and leading my community from the front Medway Culture Club, to being a master baker and featuring in a book.

Some are professional milestones, some are deeply personal. Some might look small from the outside, but collectively, they tell a much bigger story about me… my purpose, leadership, community, family, legacy and growth.

Success doesn’t have to look one dimensional.

👌🏽You can build a career and a family.
👌🏽You can lead and have fun.
👌🏽You can honour where you come from and create something new.
👌🏽You can be ambitious and make space for the people you love.

And perhaps most importantly, you can define success for yourself.

So here’s to the achievements that make the CV, the ones that never will, and everything in between.

Cannes Day 1 🇫🇷 Arrivé 💃

The alarm went off at 1am ⏰ and by 8:30, “Sun on me and feeling a vibe” about sumed it up!

@thedigitalvoicepr team were out in force and took the Croisette by storm as we hit the ground running, collecting our access all areas wristbands for the week, then headed straight to the Adtech Kickoff Lunch hosted by Limelight Inc.

Don’t let the chilled vibes fool you, press interviews, vox pops and podcasts were ago both at @hotelbarrierelemajestic and at the Samsung Ads Yacht, with the Rosé & Frozé flowing freely!

Next stop @wildflowersldn hosted an amazing event for Wild For Purpose complete with soulful tunes from @kemisulola, a stones throw away from @manolanscannes where the industry chat was just getting started and we met up with 2 of our favourite podcast hosts from @lifeatsphere & @adtech_connect 🎙️

After a quick cool down (well, cold shower 💦), we regrouped at the Empower Cafe for @digitalfightclub where contenders were pulling the punches battling between the best martech and adtech in the industry.

Last stop… watching the sunset from the @triplelifthq Lawn Party, and yes the dulcet tones were as delightful as the dusky setting on La Croisette.

📳 Did someone say @babyface is at Harour Lights 👀

I really didn’t expect the day to go like this!

Last weekend I experienced my first time live painting for an audience, my first time trying to finish a big detailed painting in one sitting and my first ever @upfest graffiti festival!!

Upfest holds a special place in my experience and view of Bristol…

When I first moved to the city, I lived in Bedminster, and during the lockdown I would find routine walking around the streets and looking at the art that adorned the walls.

The colours, shapes and architecture that they were sprayed on inspired a lot of my earlier works - oil pastel street drawings in vibrant colours (if you remember these then hello!)

It was always a goal to be involved in upfest, but I thought it was something that was a distance future goal.

But this year, in my plan to see myself as a ‘real artist’ I applied. Not thinking much about it.

Fast forward to now, I got in, I’ve painted in my first event and I am absolutely beaming about it!

I really thought that I would run out of time, that maybe I couldn’t get the piece to a place I was happy with in a day - but not only did I quite like the outcome, by the end I wasn’t too bother by the piece anyway.

I was actually just happy that I had a whole day to create & spent lots of it yapping away with other artists.

A classic example of enjoying making for the process and not the outcome.

Thanks @upfest I had the best day!! & also thanks @montana_colors for the spray paint I had so much fun playing around with the colours!! & of course @tobacco_factory for bringing the vibes and hosting!
