A really cool guy named Cameron came into the shop today. He wanted a tattoo to add to another tattoo that he had. Both were inspired by musicians that he connected with. Today the rose and butterflies represented growth and serenity. We had a really cool conversation about good life. He was so chill about the design that I whipped up for him on the spot and we were both stoked on the final design! Thank you Cameron, have so much fun in Japan!

I can’t even remember how old I was when I ran my first mile. I can’t remember how old I was when I told my parents, friends, and everyone I met that all I wanted to be was a runner. I am 22 years old now, graduating from college later this week, and while I want to be and do so many things today, one thing is still the same: I want to be a runner.

I know it’s not something I can just wish into my life, and this last year has proven that. After battling foot pain, endless PT, extensive treatments, and two cortisone shots, I didn’t get to race my final year of collegiate running. But here is what I did get to do: I got to travel and watch my best friends chase a passion we all share. I got to visualize the moment I run my first race back (which is still coming). I got to just exist around the sport and the teammates I love.

Something I’ve realized over the last year is that this sport gives and gives, but like anything else, it eventually needs something in return. I think I had just taken so much joy from running that it finally cashed in. No part of me is mad anymore, just grateful to be a Wartburg Knight, to have worn the uniform, and to be surrounded by the best team I’ve ever had.

My time here is done, but my time with the sport is not over. Thank you to @wartburgxc and @wartburgtf , my teammates, and my coaches. These last four years have been truly special, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings for these amazing programs. As I said, I am not done, some fun things planned coming soon.
