Behind the scenes of @butterflies_onthewheel rehearsal at @gasworkscreativeprecinct. The set design by Tyler Wood includes graffiti by the cast and crew on furniture sourced second hand, this day was the first time many of us got to see it all put together.

The show opens Tuesday October Six and the cast and crew have brought this script to life. It is beautiful to see so many trans and queer artists portray these characters and design for this stage.

Butterflies on the wheel is a new play that explores queer and trans identity formation, power and expectations and freedom to be oneself, even while you're still figuring out who that is. It combines modern verse, comedy, mythology and Roman history.

It's on at Gasworks main theatre from 6-10 Oct at 9pm and I'd really love to see you there. This team and these stories deserve to be witnessed by a strong audience

Ticket link where you'd expect to find it.

ID I'm Alt text A photograph of nine people in a high ceilinged room. On the left two people stand facing one another. On the right there is a circle of seven people on the ground around a small rectangle shelf. Two of them are lying down comfortably.
