Dreams Have a Price.

Three years ago, I started writing a story about dreams.

After years of writing, filming, editing, and the dedication of an incredible cast and crew, Morpheus is finally making its world premiere as an Official Selection of the 30th LA Shorts International Film Festival.

more stills from reduction, this time from scene 16 with vfx by @cameronscott253! with Cameron’s help, we took our led light tunnel location in dtla and transformed it into a different universe for Lici & Gabe. this scene leans into that surreal, in-between feeling and vfx helped ground it in a way that still feels emotional while pushing the world beyond our physical set.

In the fall of 2022, I was a senior at UCSC slated to graduate with little life direction, until I was accepted to be the cinematographer for an ambitious school project called “The Ripple”.

We ended up creating an hour-long sci-fi TV Pilot entirely in a greenscreen studio. The experience was life changing for me; shooting weekends for about four months, I learned how lead a camera and lighting crew on the fly.

I’ll be forever grateful to Cameron, Gwen, Sebastian, and everyone else on the project who completely changed the direction of my life!

1. We had to use what was available- Popup photography diffusion clipped to C-stand arms took off the edge of the overhead lighting, and kinoflos blasted the greenscreen wall for an even background illumination.

2. The fight scene! Using practical rain effects and a slanted “ship hull” meant we needed an external greenscreen studio. Art and production departments did a great job of making this work. We used our trusty GVM’s in a tower to give us a single-source fire look from the right side, and whatever remaining lights to blast the side of the greenscreen wall that was in the background. We split shooting into two directions, rotating our ship hull to change angles.

3. During the tail end of the shoot we had to pivot away from the studio, so art and production set up our exterior greenscreen wall in a performance theater. Without the amenities of the studio we resorted to every single LED panel we could find. Cameron’s father Todd created an incredible water-bike in which we installed practical lighting

Cinematography reel- July 2025

This year I’ve been able to shoot some really fun projects and I’m so thankful for the visionaries who trusted me with their babies!

I had a great time doing field recording and sound design on RingQuest for the 72-hour film challenge by CFA! I met a lot of cool people and I hope to see them again soon on new projects!
