Dear dance, thank you for everything…

Recently I completed my last ever recital which marks the end of my dance career. I am so grateful for all of lessons that dance has taught me, and I truly will miss it with every piece of my heart.

To my incredible parents, thank you for believing in me every step of the way, for the countless sacrifices, and for always being my biggest cheerleaders. To my inspiring teachers, thank you for pushing me to become the best dancer I could be. And to my amazing teammates, thank you for the laughter, the friendships, and the unforgettable memories we’ve created together.

As I close this chapter, I’m excited to see what the future holds. Dance will always be a part of me, and I’ll cherish these memories forever.

Lock your doors.. I’m Robin da hood

On a serious note, sitting down to write this had me at such a loss. How do I sum up such a profound part of the past fourteen years into one little post? I remember the day my mom signed me up for dance, she took me to watch a recital and I immediately fell in love. Dance has given me some of the best lessons, role models, and memories. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it. I’ll miss all the grumpy (and delusional) team dinners, late practice nights, class dress up days, and so much more. Thank you to all my teachers for the knowledge you have poured into me, all the people I’ve gotten to perform alongside for always giving your all, and my parents for never letting me believe that any goal was unachievable.
While this chapter of my life may be closing, I’m so happy that I get to continue to take dance into the next one. I can’t wait to see where this dream takes me.
The best truly is yet to come.
