When my brother died a year ago, I hit rock bottom. I became a shell of person completely numb and frozen in time. I lost interest in everything I loved. I could barely move or leave the house. I had anxiety attacks often, couldn’t process conversations and held back tears at every social setting. I had no energy to interact with the world. I couldn’t understand how everyone kept moving while I was completely paralyzed.

On New Years, my brother’s puppy unexpectedly passed. This brought back a lot of grief because she was a part of Nestor. After that, I had a cancer scare for a few months and our 3 other dogs passed away within weeks of each other including my Rocky 🤍

Now my stomach drops every time my family calls. I’m always on edge waiting for bad news to arrive. I’m anxious to leave my family knowing that our time together is limited.

I wouldn’t have made it this past year without my friends. some unfortunately knew exactly what to do and others made sure to always be there even when i didnt have the capacity to return the energy. They kept me from drowning, and accepted whatever version of me i could glue together so thank you ❤️

If you made it this far, thanks for reading - it’s relieving to share. It’s been a challenging year that changed me forever. I'm glad I learned that aging is a privilege but I didn't want to learn this way. This is hopefully my last deep post for awhile so enjoy some moments that kept me afloat 😊 I’ll try to be back on my bullshit soon
