Cam Hamel, A&R and co-founder of Purple Tea Records, is heading to Amsterdam with a ten-person team, a free label showcase with Dark Roast Records at 50:HERTZ on Wednesday 21 October, and a new merch capsule: Spill the Tea 🍵

In the full Q&A, Cam explains how the Montréal tech house label plans ADE one or two months out, what makes a demo stand out before anyone hits play, and why the label’s merch is pure branding for now.

The magic of ADE isn’t just who’s there. It’s what becomes possible when the electronic music industry comes together in one city. 🇳🇱🎧

You can learn from people doing what you want to do, strengthen relationships that started online, meet someone completely outside your usual circle, discover new music, and have one conversation that changes what you do next.

If you’re heading to Amsterdam next week, remember:

✔️ Come with intention, not an agenda. Know what you want from the week, but don’t approach every conversation looking for an outcome.

✔️ Be curious. Ask people what they’re working on. Some of the strongest relationships start with genuine interest, not a pitch.

✔️ Leave room for serendipity. Don’t schedule every minute. Some of the best ADE moments happen between the things you planned.

✔️ Follow up. The relationship you build in Amsterdam only becomes valuable if you continue it after everyone goes home.

That’s the real power of Amsterdam Dance Event: the week ends. The relationships, ideas, and opportunities can keep going.

On Tuesday, October 20th, we’re getting together in Amsterdam to remember our friend, DJ Rob D’Shawn Anderson. ❤️

Join us at Cafe De Ebeling from 5–8 PM for an evening of good company, a few beers, and stories about a friend who meant so much to so many of us.

Stop by, grab a beer, share a story about how you knew Rob, stay for dinner, and help us celebrate the person he was and the memories he left behind.

No formalities. Just friends coming together to remember a good man and a life that touched so many of us.

📍 Cafe De Ebeling
Overtoom 52, 1054 HK Amsterdam

Other clubs are same old same old, at 760 Media Studio, we’re doing a whole different kind of horror : liminal spaces… aka the BACKROOMS 👽 in an exclusive venue.

With a carefully curated DJ lineup chosen for its distinctive underground sound, and a massive wall projection + lazers bringing the space to life, we’re transforming Montreal’s finest music studio into a full immersive audiovisual experience.

This one is for those looking for something a little more intimate, a little less conventional, and an all-inclusive experience without compromising on the music or the eerie atmosphere. #halloween #montrealparty #underground #liminalspaces

You don’t need certainty to make a good decision.

When you’re considering a new opportunity:
→ Weigh the pros and cons
→ Ask if it aligns with your goals
→ Consider what you’re risking and what you could gain
→ Talk it through with 1–2 people you trust
→ Make the best decision you can with the information you have

Being intentional doesn’t mean waiting until you’re certain.

Save this for the next time you’re deciding whether to take the risk.

New drop “Baddie” out now, say less.

We brought in the proper AAA Alberta beef for this one, you feel me? The mandem in the control room and 2 below cooked up a mad bass banger, swerving through tech house, bass house, and garage.

Link in bio, go run up the streams, say less fam. 🔊🔥🔗

It’s with great sadness that we found out @robdshawn has left us much too young.

His passion, kindness, and determination will never be forgotten.

He never complained, always showed up, and would always be ready to give a helping hand.

Your love for music was inspiring, and we were lucky to have you be part of our family.

Please kindly considering donating and sending his family your kind words.

We have left a link to his support now in our bio.

Merci pour tous et à la prochaine. 💔💔
