Travel Softball… I don’t even know how to start. These have been the best 7 years I’ve lived. This was the hardest goodbye yet. You taught me that softball is more than a sport. It’s a family. I’m going to miss my family but I know I’ll see them again. Softball taught me how to accept failure and move on. It taught me how to respect others. It taught me how to work hard for something I want. It taught me that even though life isn’t easy, it can be fun. It taught me that the best part about life is the people you choose to spend it with. I owe so many more thanks than I can give to Coach Joe and Jenna. They said that they have learned more than they taught us but idk if that’s true. I’ve learned so much from you both. You taught me more than a sport. You taught me life. Thank you so much for taking a chance on the little girl with no athleticism. I can never thank you enough for all your help over the years. While all of that was hard to let go of, the hardest was playing on the same field as my sister. Although we may not have always got along, we always wanted what was best for each other and loved one another the hardest. I’m going to miss playing with you so bad and can’t wait to watch you grow up and do great things. I know it’s normally the younger sister who looks up to the older but I look up to you more than you know. Thank you for enduring my endless conversation with myself and all the sleeping I did in the car. Thank you for making the best memories a sister could have. I love you. I love travel softball. Here’s not my goodbye but until next time. Or see you later alligator🤪. In the meantime I can’t wait to play for @etsubucssoftball.

It seems like a few short years ago, the girls were rolled away in their bassinets to get cleaned up after their arrival. The nurse brought them back to us and looked down at Campbell and said, “you are going to have fun with this one, she’s feisty”. 🙃

I also remember sitting in a rocking chair in the girls nursery in the middle of the night trying to get Campbell to go back to sleep. For some reason the lyrics of the first verse of She’s Every Woman always came to mind and I would sing it to her while she fought her way to sleep.

“She’s sun and rain, she’s fire and ice
A little crazy, but it’s nice
And when she gets mad, you best leave her alone
‘Cause she’ll rage just like a river
Then she’ll beg you to forgive her
Oh, she’s every woman that I’ve ever known”

What turns into a love song, described her perfectly as she came home at 4 lbs. 14 oz. and still holds true today. She’s sun, rain, fire, and ice. She is all we could have ever prayed for and so much more.

We dropped her off for her next adventure today at Erskine. We are so unbelievably proud of her and will miss her beyond words. Go do BIG things our beautiful girl! Your brother, sister, mother, and father will always be your biggest fans. Your village is cheering for you ALWAYS! Work hard and Be kind! 🩷🩷🩷 WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
