If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting this strong, beautiful, sweet (I mean so, so sweet) human, let me introduce you.

This is Michelle Lee of @michelleleephotographypa. I had the pleasure of getting to know her a little bit at one of my workshops way back when, we reconnected when she photographed one of my niece's weddings, then we really sealed the deal during this shoot at @campcaitlin's Treehouse. Each encounter made me adore her more!

Her bold, retro, one-of-a-kind style meshed so well with the spirit of the treehouse. Annnnd she managed to talk one of her sons into joining her for the session. He was also a joy to work with which is saying something since many teen boys aren't so into photoshoots with their mamas. But these two brought their rockin' spirits and effortlessly shared their bond and beauty with the camera.

Thank you, Michelle for this memorable session, last August! I love you! Beautiful woman with ferns in front of face

Nina + Jonathan (Highlight) The Little A in PA

I have a dream of building an A frame house so this wedding was right up my alley! I’ve been so excited to edit this one! It was everything I dreamed it would be and more!

When I first spoke with Nina on the phone she told me that she discovered me the year before and always knew that she wanted me to film her wedding and that the video was one of the most important things to her! So obviously I immediately fell in love with her! And to top it all off she is just the salt of the earth and a sweetheart to boot!

The day was just amazing! Everyone was so happy and the rain didn’t put a damper on the ceremony at all! We waited a while for the rain to stop but then just decided to go for it! And ever since the last time I shot a wedding in the pouring rain I became a fan! There’s something really beautiful about a ceremony while it’s raining that I really love!

This wasn’t a typical wedding, there was no dancing to film but I loved capturing all the laughter and smiles during their candle lit dinner, fireside chat and s’more assemble-age! I love the way light and shadow dance across the face of a person, it makes the subject so much more interesting to me! So this was definitely my kind of wedding!

To Nina and Jonathan! It was soooo much fun spending this day with you! I am so happy for the both of you! It’s been fun spending the last week thinking about you, hearing all the beautiful thoughts from your friends and family and looking at your beautiful faces! Thank you for finding me and choosing me to share this day with you! It is always a pleasure! (And as always!) Love your friends (And by friends I mean meeeeee!!!!) At Alyssa Kaufman films!

Now what are you waiting for! Go watch the video at least 10 times!
