We’re excited to introduce Joe’s Adventures!

Formerly Joe’s Camp & Hike, Joe’s Adventures is our FREE weekend getaway designed for teens ages 14–17 whose lives have been touched by ALS.

This special weekend gives teens the opportunity to step away from the stress and challenges ALS can bring and build friendships, gain confidence, try new things, and connect with others who truly understand their same ALS experience.

This year’s adventure? White water rafting on the French Broad River!

Led by Camp Cherokee and the Nantahala Outdoor Center, the weekend of Sept. 25–27 will be filled with adventure, connection, and unforgettable memories, from pitching tents and cooking over an open fire to navigating rapids on the river.

Even though camp is free, we offer travel camperships for teens who live more than four hours away, helping ensure distance is not a barrier for teens who want to attend.

Registration is now OPEN! Visit: https://joemartinalsfoundation.org/camps/joes-adventures/ or the link in our bio.

Thank you, @als, your presenting sponsorship helps make our Joe’s Camp programing possible!

We’re missing our Joe’s Camp kids!

Last weekend, we gathered at Camp Cherokee in Kings Mountain State Park with an incredible group of kids whose lives have been impacted by ALS, and what a weekend it was.

Campfires and s’mores are always a must at Joe’s Camp, Gaga Ball quickly became a camp favorite, and campers challenged themselves on the climbing wall while cheering each other on every step of the way. From cabin time laughs to crafts, archery, pickleball, and late-night conversations, the weekend was filled with connection, adventure, and joy.

New friendships were made, old friendships grew even stronger, and stories were shared among kids who truly understand the ALS experience.

One parent shared:
“Joe’s Camp is such a bright spot alongside many other hard things that our family has and will experience. We’re so grateful for the counselors and team who devoted their weekend (and beyond) to pouring into these kids. For months, our daughter eagerly anticipated her first time at camp, and the first thing she said when I picked her up to go home was ‘I want to come back next year!’”

Moments like these are why Joe’s Camp matters so much.

A special thank you to our presenting sponsor, the ALS Association, for helping make Joe’s Camp possible, and thank you to every volunteer, counselor, and supporter who helped create such a meaningful weekend for these amazing kids.

We already can’t wait for next year!

Stay tuned for details on Joe’s Adventures, white water rafting trip, for teens ages 14 – 17, Sept. 25 – 27, registration will open soon! Visit: https://joemartinalsfoundation.org/camps/
