POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In St George, Emory made a friend, Camryn. We made the connection that Camryn’s mom and I grew up together. When we got last minute tickets to the Eras Tour in Vancouver, they invited us to join their trip. They’re “the more the merrier” type of people in the BEST way. So this year, when they went to NYC, we of course had to join them for Harry Styles. I’ve never been a big traveler, but some friends and family have been pushing me out of my comfort zone lately, even though I am stubborn as hell. All these “coincidences” left me with so many thoughts, so here they are in a jumbled mess.
🚕
Be your daughter’s best friend. She is a gift.
🚕
Stop and tell someone you love them when you feel it.
🚕
Be easygoing and open to what others want to do.
🚕
Cry when you’re overwhelmed with emotion during the show.
🚕
Acknowledge people. Thank the woman cleaning the subway bathroom. Being seen is everything.
🚕
Walk out if the restaurant is too expensive and you can’t read the menu.
🚕
Spend time with people who share your VALUES, not your religion.
🚕
Recognize the privilege that is being able to take your daughter to NYC while many can’t afford groceries. Don’t forget that.
🚕
Know your body is tougher than you think.
🚕
LOVE people who aren’t “yours” because everyone has something to offer you.
🚕
Know you’re always going to wish you had paid more attention in history.
🚕
Be thankful for the people who came before who had a vision.
🚕
Be open to reconnecting with old friends.
🚕
Stop worrying about being cringey. Anyone who cares is just jealous.
🚕
Don’t feel bad if your life situation means you can’t do this. My kids favorite vacays are still when cousins came to visit. Because it’s about the relationship first.
🚕
Focus on what you can control and let the rest go.
🚕
Buy your 21 year old the toys. She’s growing up too fast anyway.
🚕
I know I have more, but thank you to Dana and Melissa. Thank you to Camryn, Kayla, and Reese for welcoming us. Thank you to Corrina for being my girl for a few days. Thank you to Travis for supporting us. And Emory, thank you for being my soulmate
