POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This was us at the Canada-Ghana Chamber’s Connecting Beyond Conversation program: Think Pink, Think Wellness.

Lizette was scheduled to speak before the stroke, and we were determined to maintain the commitment and attend. She shared her journey, and then blessed every soul who was present.

Her story, courage, and resilience through mental toughness continue to inspire us. We are grateful for the opportunity to witness her strength and to celebrate the progress she is making.

This journey has reminded me that healing is not always instant, progress is not always dramatic, and strength does not always look like having it all together. Sometimes, strength is simply waking up, showing up for physiotherapy, taking another step, and believing God for what tomorrow holds.
Lizette’s story is still unfolding, and we are trusting God for greater strength, continued progress, and complete restoration.
To God be all the glory for how far He has brought us. The God who has sustained us this far will continue to be our strength.
We are grateful for the gift of life, the blessing of improvement, the love of our support system, and the hope we have in Christ.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
Indeed, even in our weakness, God is still good! ❤️🙏🏽

September 10th is a day I will never forget.

That day, I received a call from Lizette’s mom. She said, “I called Lizette, and someone picked up and told me they were at the hospital. Where are you?”

I was confused. I told her, “Mommy, let me call her and find out. I’ve been trying to reach her on WhatsApp, but she hasn’t been responding.” I was in Accra, and Lizette was in Bolga, so I had no idea what was happening.

I called Lizette’s phone, and Hannah answered. Then came the words that shattered me: “Lizette has had a stroke in Bolga.”

That was one of the worst calls I had received in a long time. I was frozen on the phone, confused, speechless, and struggling to process what I had just heard. What do you mean Lizette has had a stroke? It was almost impossible to comprehend.

But here we are, weeks later, and the Lord has brought us this far! ❤️🙏🏽

What once felt like a nightmare has become a testimony of God's faithfulness, strength, and sustaining grace. With consistent physiotherapy, determination, and day to day improvement, we are seeing progress. We may not be where we want to be yet, but we are certainly not where we used to be.

And there is something about Lizette that I must point out. Her stroke was not stress-induced, but her mental toughness and resilience have been remarkable throughout this journey.

Lizette is one person who has demonstrated incredible mental strength through life's difficult seasons. From previous health challenges to this present one, she has continued to show us what it means to face adversity with courage, determination, and a mind that refuses to give up.

Watching her recovery has been particularly inspiring. Her resilience, positive outlook, and commitment to the rehabilitation process have been remarkable, and we celebrate every bit of progress she makes.

At Brain Fitness Center Africa, Lizette has consistently taught that our mental capacity plays a significant role in how we navigate life's difficult moments. One of the principles she shares is that life is 90% mental. And now, in a deeply personal way, we are witnessing her live out the very message she has been teaching.
