Today is my sister’s birthday! 🎉

I came into the picture 17 years later, which must’ve been so random. Imagine being a budding adult in the ’90s and suddenly…baby sister. 😂

But I have to give credit where it’s due. Being around her gave me a front-row seat to one of the greatest creative eras. I saw and experienced a lot very young, and I don’t think I’d be nearly as fascinated by the creative process of music artists today without her influence. It’s even shaping this next chapter of the performative aspect of my art.

‘Roses In My Panini’ depicts the moment we finally met as adults. I had just gotten to UAlbany, we were talking about our family, and suddenly had the same realization about something. That’s when it clicked: we didn’t really know each other until then.

Suddenly, those 17 years disappeared. We were just two humans having a human experience with overlapping themes.

Sometimes people impact you in ways you don’t have the words for until years later. Writing this made me realize how much went unsaid.

I wouldn’t trade our story for anything.

Love you to pieces, forever and ever.

& don’t spend your damn birthday money on gas, please. I’ve said what I’ve said. Everyone— make sure she treats herself.

The @canalstreetshow is the highlight of my year and it was such an honor participating in the art battle for a third time, which somehow felt like the most special one so far. It’s not easy to create a collaborative piece of art in 60 minutes against another team and I am so grateful to have gotten to paint something representative of Beyond the Veil with one of my best friends and art twin @leeaux. We even got the same haircut for this night but you can’t tell from this footage. Thank you for being my teammate and for believing in us.

A huge heartfelt thank you to @efdot, Will EP, @oneloveartdao and particularly @__jenita___ for everything they do to make these events possible and to lift so many of us up.

This video doesn’t capture all of the incredible artists who showed work at this event, and none of this would feel the same without everyone who came out to share this with us. Thank you to my sweet doll @nakedhealthy_ who is constantly supporting me, even fanning us with cardboard in a 1000 degree room. Thank you @danicadrezner for being there with Leeaux and me and for getting so much wonderful footage.

YEAAAAAY! It happened! From a small Dutch village to Times Square, NYC. 🗽✨

Still surreal to see my hand-painted art come to life in the heart of New York.

JIREH II — hand-painted, digitally brought to life. 🎨

Jireh was deeply personal to me. It is about the seasons of life, which can sometimes feel light and effortless, but at other times can overwhelm you like a heavy storm. And yet, through it all, God’s Light always shines upon you and He never lets you go. Whether you believe in God or not, everyone recognises the struggle between good and evil and the contrast between lighter and darker periods in life. It is about moving toward light, even when you cannot yet see the destination. The title comes from the biblical expression “The Lord will Provide”.
