‘9/8’LİK KIYAMET’ ☄️💥🔥

🎫 Biletler biletinial.com’da.

_______

"Pigeonizer" impressions by dear @canberkulusan 🦚

The exhibition will be open until 08.01. Until then, let me know if you want to come for a drink or chat to meet @imi.winery

And dearest @ardillapaga wrote this beautiful exhibition text without ai (which is apperantly a "miracle" nowadays.) 🐝

"Dark pigeon [dɑːrk ˈpɪdʒ.ən] - the psychological mechanism of neglecting your inside negative persona and subconsciously project it onto outside objects or subjects.” - The Güvendag Encyclopedia, 2025

As human beings we tend to identify with our positive aspects - things we like about others and things we like about ourselves. While separating ourselves from the dark parts of our personality we might find ourselves judging others for what they are, what they do and suddenly feelings like hate or disgust start to arise. We think they are a result of outside stimuli. But actually they come from deep down - from our shadow self.

C.G. Jung established the theory of the shadow self which reflects the dark side of our personality. By shadow self he means the parts of our personality we don’t like, the things we don’t want to be: Our dirty sides, our failures and mistakes. He says that once we embrace our shadow self, we become One.

Pigeons are reflecting our shadow self. Here in Germany we do not like pigeons at all. Actually we hate them. We think they are dirty animals. We call them „rats of the sky“.

So I, Gizem Güvendag, invite you to go with me onto a journey and discover your shadow self. Transform into something you never wanted to be. To finally become whole."
