What NOT to do when visiting Chichén Itzá👇😂😅

After 6 visits to Mexico, I finally visited the World Wonder of Chichén Itzá 🥹🇲🇽 And I learned a lot of lessons with this adventure🙈

To preface, this was a last minute excursion we booked through our resort so I did not necessarily prepare adequately 😂

1️⃣ The humidity is actually INSANE. The only other time I’ve experienced humidity like this was in China. We were absolutely soaking. I thought a dress would allow some breeze ya know? WRONG dress though 😂 avoid anything that hugs the body (swipe to the last photo for a laugh at my sweat stains😂)

2️⃣ Drones, tripods, and gimbals, are not allowed without a permit🚫 you can purchase one at the front entrance upon arrival though!

3️⃣ Be prepared for rain! ☔️ When we arrived, it was sunny. And within 10 minutes, the skies opened and dropped a downpour of heavy rain! Luckily I did bring a rain jacket and our tour guides had umbrellas ready for us. But after about 20 minutes of rain, it was sunny and super hot again🥵

4️⃣ You need a full day to really see the site! There is so much to see and explore and we didn’t have enough time in a half day tour. We missed out on exploring the museum where all the recovered sacrificial artifacts from the Sacred Cenote are on display😭

5️⃣ Don’t skip out on booking a guide! 🎟️ These sites have SO much history and it’s 10x more enjoyable when you get to hear stories, history, and context of everything you are exploring. We booked with @cancun_adventures through our resort the day before! So easy and shout out to our guide Gato!😸

This is one of those sites that I’ve left unfinished 🥹 so you know I’ll be back 😍

Have you been to North America’s World Wonder yet?🙌🏼

What $99 can get you in Cancun 👀🌴

ATVs, zip-lining, a cenote, AND a fresh taco buffet to finish it all off?! We booked this excursion with @cancun_adventures and honestly, it was such a steal for everything that was included.

They picked us up and dropped us off right at our resort, @riuhotels Palace Kukulkan, which made everything so convenient. The staff was thorough, professional, and made sure we knew what to do every step of the way. The groups were small enough that the experience never felt overwhelming, and the food was made fresh and served hot instead of sitting out for who knows how long. 🌮

If you’re planning a Cancun trip and want to fit some adventure into your itinerary, this one is worth looking into!

Save this for your Cancun trip ✈️

Another unforgettable Mexican adventure! Today we headed to @atvamazingadventure for a packed day of incredible experiences.

I booked this with @cancun_adventures who picked up from our hotel. We started with the ATVs - the boys swapped drivers halfway through so Jack got his turn that he desperately wanted behind the wheel too!

Next up was zip lining, which was definitely not for the faint-hearted, especially tackling the spider web wall!! Then it was time to slow the pace with a horse trek before cooling off with a refreshing swim in a beautiful cenote.

Lunch was included, along with return transfers from our hotel, making it such an easy day out.

There’s some crazy statistic that around 95% of guests staying at resorts never leave their hotel. That might be the case for us as we move onto our third and final hotel for this holiday tomorrow, but the first and second part of our trip has been all about getting out, exploring and making memories.

Even better, this is another experience I’ve been able to earn back through my travel platform, proving once again that travelling smarter really does pay.

Who’s adding this to their Mexico bucket list? Message me for any questions or if you’re visiting soon, I’ll happily share my links to book your own experiences too!

🇲🇽 Mexico - Isla Mujeres Catamaran Adventure

Island days done right. 🌊☀️

Turquoise waters, catamaran sailing, snorkeling and exploring the beautiful beaches of Isla Mujeres.

We traded a day at the resort for an adventure on the Caribbean Sea with Cancun Adventures. Sometimes getting off the resort is the best part of the trip!

CHEERSING INTERNATIONALLY IN CANCUN! 😂🥂🌎🇲🇽

When you get a bunch of WORLD TRAVELERS together in Mexico and suddenly nobody knows what language we’re drinking in anymore! 😅

KANPAI! 🇯🇵
SALUD! 🇲🇽
PROST! 🇩🇪
SKÅL! 🇸🇪

Different countries, different languages, Same ENERGY all here in Mexico! 💚🤍❤️

This is one of my favourite things about travelling… meeting people from all over the world and somehow finding ways to connect no matter where we come from.

And in CANCUN… that connection apparently starts with a CHEERS! 😂🥂🇲🇽

What do you say for “CHEERS” in YOUR country?! 👀👇🏾
