Good to be back home in our little village of Stiappa for a couple of weeks. Even better being here with family. Shockingly…this is the first time we’re actually using our house as a house. All the little construction things the past few years are done and we can just enjoy being present. Some highlights from the house so far including visits to nearby Lucca and Firenze ❤️🍷🇮🇹

The past week we were in Italy closing on our little house near Pescia. It's up in the mountains in a small village with crisp air and a handful of people who live there all year round. In the summer, the town has about 100 people as people have holiday homes there. We finalized our paperwork exactly 7 weeks after Heidi and I had seen the listing - I stayed some extra days to clear some things out of the house and get a bit of renovation work started. We got our fiber optic high-speed set up and have a few electrical upgrades to do. Other than that - it's in great shape and we planning on being there by next summer with the family. A few shots of the progress as well as a collection of my stories the past week which give you a good sense of the area any what life is like there (number one question from many people; "Why would you buy a house in Stiappa?!")🇮🇹

Thanks to everyone in the town that have already been so lovely and helpful. The owner of the bar opens every day at 3pm for the few people there, he sells firewood and has dinners on Sunday for everyone served family style. His wife has a huge, gorgeous garden just below our house and 13 cats who live outside and follow her around when she walks around. The previous owners of our house were super helpful with the sale and of course of former tenant, Olivia, who helped connect all the dots the past couple of months. We already love it there and can't wait to get back⠀

24 hours after leaving LA - we found ourselved invited to just an amazing dinner at the historic Rafanelli in Pistoia.
