Ever wonder what it takes to make adaptive mountain biking possible? ♿️🚵‍♀️ Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at my first experience, from all the creative adaptations and test runs to finally hitting the trails on my own. So much went into making this happen, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone at @handcyclingclub for their patience, expertise, and willingness to figure things out with me. Who knew I could be adding mountain biking to my list of hobbies again?! 🥹

From adaptive paddling and accessible trails to inclusive camping, cycling, and outdoor adventure equipment, attendees will have the chance to connect with organizations and vendors helping make recreation more accessible for all ages and abilities. The expo brings together adaptive sport leaders, accessibility advocates, and community organizations for a full day of demos, exhibits, and hands-on experiences.

SAMBA is lucky to have so many amazing women+ on our board (and a couple of good dudes who give them their flowers 💐🙂).

Women with disabilities have consistently created some of the most incredible inclusive spaces I have been lucky enough to participate in. So many aMTB opportunities come from the badass effort of women with disabilities.

@bionic_heart_roller @on_amtb_riders one woman show running massive, low barrier aMTB camps in Ontario, while being a badass working PhD mom with a rad family.

@ch_ogilvie @elsalalonde @cando_society @elleaccessible another power duo running non- profits that provide aMTB and reduce barriers to the outdoors off the side of their desks! Intro to camp weekends for PWD’s? Hell yes.

@sarahtipler2018 a powerhouse of accessibility education, policy, and advocacy in the Sea to Sky. When someone asks how I got into aMTB- I will always tell them the story of meeting Sarah.

@barbees_world @bowheadcorp if you’re lucky enough you’ll get to ride with Barbee and have some of the best days on the trail. Quad correspondent showing us what’s possible!

@acairns_insta @jimbec.k mega supporters behind the scenes and on the trails. We are lucky to have you!

Honourable mention 🏆 ask any of us how we got into aMTB and gritty advocacy- and we will say @sierraroth22 the GOAT. She was the pebble that created the ripple out.
