POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’m really humbled by the reaction to Puddles since we published it online last week. Thanks so much for all your kind words and messages. It’s incredible the number of people that have watched it given the small following and lack of subscribers I have…

If you still haven’t watched our bite-sized dark comedy about motherhood, parental judgement and unsolicited advice head to the link in my bio now.

“It takes me just a few seconds to make someone’s whole day.”

Meet Hannes, Experience Manager at @eriro.alpinehide in Austria.

For Hannes, going above and beyond often means venturing to the mist-crowned peaks of the mountains. During snow season, you might even spot him skiing guests’ suitcases in and out of the hotel, though we wouldn’t recommend trying that yourself.

His infectious sense of adventure and passion for creating unforgettable moments have left a lasting impression on guests from around the world. Proof that sometimes, it only takes a few seconds to make someone’s whole day.

Discover Hannes story, and why he was crowned The Alpine Pioneer, via the link in our bio.

“The more you give, the more you receive.”

Meet Quỳnh, Guest Host at @namiariverretreat in Vietnam, and one of the extraordinary people behind SLH’s The One. Her name appears time and again in handwritten guestbook notes and stories shared long after guests have returned home.

But what is it about Quỳnh that makes her so unforgettable? For Quỳnh, hospitality is about so much more than welcoming guests. It’s about making people feel something they’ll carry with them long after they leave.

Discover her story and why she was crowned “The Memory Maker” via the link in our bio.

The ones behind it all…

At the start of 2026, we invited you to nominate the individuals at our independent hotels who have made your stays extraordinary. Thousands of nominations came flooding in, each one proving that while SLH hotels may be small, they are big on personality, passion and making every stay personal.

Celebrate with us the people who give our independently minded hotels their character, creating the moments you’ll remember long after you leave.
