I know it’s Mother’s Day, but I’m still on a high from Friday and am finally able to get my thoughts together a bit! But Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas!!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University in December, but the commencement ceremony was Friday. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and have also successfully completed the first semester of my MSW program at Loyola University Chicago. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾Thank you, Jesus!!
I am honored and blessed to have wonderful people in my corner uplifting me, praying for me, pushing me, believing in me, and supporting me in countless ways! My folks showed up and showed out even more this past weekend!
HUGE shout out to @thecreativephilosofher, @sharilachelle, @boots9477, @theedoriginger, @swim.bike.di, and @faithworks100 for putting together an awesome celebration! It was a beautiful time and I am so pleased!! I felt so loved and I love and appreciate yall so much!!

Today I walked for the Associate’s degree that I received in December. I have to really work on not saying “just” or downplaying the accomplishment. I thank God for all the people who have encouraged me to embrace it and celebrate it. I did work hard and it is a stepping stone for the rest of my journey. I finished my first semester at Roosevelt University a couple weeks ago where I’m working on my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and I did really well, so I’m proud of that too! When you think of me, send me your thoughts and prayers as I continue to work toward my goals. Working full time and going to school full time at this big age is a LOT! HUGE thanks to my support system, I’d drop out without y’all! Lol…I’m so appreciative of how folks have shown up for me and for the monetary gifts and otherwise I’ve received today.
