One of Our Own: A Benefit for Tommy Grindle

Sunday, July 12th at Black Magic Social Club.

We are coming together for someone who has spent years giving so much of himself to the Houston music community.

Tommy Grindle is a staple of this city’s scene. His roots run deep through the people, bands, venues, and friendships that make Houston what it is. If you have been around here long enough, chances are you have crossed paths with Tommy. Maybe at a show. Maybe through a band. Maybe through a conversation that lasted longer than expected. Maybe through the simple act of showing up for each other.

Now it’s our turn to show up for him.

After spending a significant amount of time in the hospital and facing major medical bills, Tommy has unfortunately been admitted again. This benefit is being put together to help ease that burden and remind him that he is surrounded by people who care.

100% of proceeds from this event will go directly to Tommy and his medical bills.

We have been doing this the old way. Posters on walls. Flyers on signs. Corkboards. Countertops. Handbills passed from one person to another. Getting the word out the same way we have always built this community - face to face, person to person.

We have also been spreading the word online, but we know not everyone who wants to help will be able to make it to Houston.

If you are out of town, live out of state, or simply cannot make the show, we have set up a digital donation option. Every bit helps, and the link is available in our bio.

Come spend the afternoon with us. Come support someone who has supported this scene for years.

Houston has always been built on people taking care of their own.

Now it’s Tommy’s turn to feel that love.

4 DAYS.

This isn’t just another show.

This is Houston’s music community doing what it’s always done, showing up when it matters.

Two stages. An incredible lineup of local bands. Novi Burger keeping everyone fed. Sweet As Sin serving dessert. Every person through the door helps support Tommy.

No excuses. No sitting this one out.

Come early. Stay late. Bring somebody with you.

Let’s fill Black Magic from wall to wall and remind Tommy he’s got an entire city behind him.

See you Sunday.

@novi_burger will be on site serving up some amazing grub!

Can’t make it out but still want to be part of it? Scan the QR code to donate and support the cause.

Last time we took it outside, y’all showed up and turned a parking lot into a gathering place. This is what community looks like.

We’re doing it again. A whole lot of heart, and a day built around supporting one of our own.

Expect a tour recap post tomorrow. Right now, something more serious is pressing. Please swipe.

One of our best friends, Tommy Grindle, has fallen on some very hard times. The three of us go back well over a decade in friendship with him. If you don’t know him personally, you may have seen him at Moon Tower Inn or in his band, Ol’ Hag. Tommy is a staple of the Houston music scene, as well as the community. Zelma’s Window and Do It For Chico! Records have stepped up to book a benefit show for him at Black Magic Social Club on Sunday 07/12/26. They have booked some of Tommy’s favorite bands to play. We need to do our part to come together and help him just as he has helped so many. Let’s do this for Tommy. We know we are.

Get the word out. Share this. Spread this. Tell someone. Do your part.

One word: Support

On Friday, Chico rigged up a stroller with 6 fans just so he could go out with Zelma’s Window and flyer around the city getting the word out. Not even the heat could stop him because he knew this was important. Paw to hand, a flyer was given to everyone. Chico loves Tommy.

Event Update!

We’ve got a couple of additions to the benefit.

We’re excited to welcome Shred the Deck to an already stacked lineup, and Novi Burger will be on site serving food throughout the day.

Most importantly, tickets are now available!

General Admission is $15, and for those who’d like to go a little further, we’ve added Supporter and Community Support ticket options. Every dollar raised goes directly to Tommy to help with medical expenses and his recovery.

If you can’t make it, purchasing a support ticket is another great way to contribute.

Join us on Sunday, July 12 at Black Magic Social Club for a day of live music, good food, and community coming together for one of our own.

Grab your tickets now through the link in our bio, and please help us spread the word by sharing this post.

@hag.htx killing it at The Loud Minority Festival

🔥 WE DID IT. THE FIRST ONE IS IN THE BOOKS. 🔥

What started as an idea for the outsiders turned into a full day of noise, sweat, connection, and community. The very first Loud Minority Festival is officially complete — and it was louder, weirder, and more powerful than we could have imagined.

To every band who brought raw energy and fearless sound.
To Post//Post for holding the vibe together all day.
To every person who showed up early, stayed late, and made the pit move.
To everyone who shared a flyer, reposted a story, told a friend, or simply believed in it.

Thank you.

And massive gratitude to Moon Tower Inn for opening the doors, hosting the chaos, and giving the loud a place to gather. There isn’t a better home for this kind of beautiful noise.

This was never just about a lineup.
It was about creating space for people who think, speak, and create differently.
It was about proving that the fringe has a pulse — and it’s strong.

We are not the majority.
👁️ We are The Loud Minority.

And this was only year one.

See you next year. Louder. Bigger. Still unapologetically us.
