About dinner last night ➡️ Life gets busy for both of us, but even after 10 years and 3 months together, we still love making time for date nights and treating ourselves to somewhere special. This time, we wanted to experience flavors we couldn’t recreate at home or easily find anywhere else. So we made a reservation at @canoneastsac , and let’s just say they definitely delivered! Quick Bite: Tots - $10 Sounds simple, but these tots were perfectly crispy! The pickled onions added a nice tangy contrast to the warm, rich mole underneath. Quick Bite: Crispy Pork Belly - $16 The rich, fatty pork belly paired with sweet grapes and crunchy curry granola made for such a unique combination of flavors and textures! We loved it so much that while waiting for our entrées, we were seriously debating ordering another round. Definitely one of the highlights of the night! Small Plate: Chicken Drumsticks - $13 The meat was falloff the bone tender and coated in a flavorful Urfa chile sauce. The creamy bed of yogurt underneath balanced everything out beautifully and added a nice Mediterranean-inspired touch to the dish! Entree: Smoked Duck Leg - $51 We’ve never had duck leg prepared quite like this before! It came with a smooth, slightly smoky salsa verde, caramelized onions, and a bed of frijoles charros. The generous scoop of yogurt on top added a creamy tanginess that perfectly balanced the richness and smokiness of the duck. Dessert: Corn Cake - $12 If you get this, definitely try to get a little bit of everything in one bite! The spongy corn cake, the creamy mousse underneath, and the tart blackberries all complemented each other so well. We do wish the corn cake itself was a little softer and fluffier on the inside, but overall, it was still the perfect way to end a delicious dinner! 🙂‍↕️
